Why?! When?! WHICH?!?

Are we so vain?!

The four elephants of the apocalypse!

I "think this all arrogance" indeed.

It's the bus fumes. They're responsible for low test scores.

Egghead likes his booky book!

Don't thank me, thank the knife!

LOBO, LOBO, BRING BACK SHERIFF LOBO.

That is my all-time favorite Simpsons joke. Ah Krull, did you not know, we worship the inanimate rod, now?

In rod we trust!

Hello, is this President Clinton? Good! I figured if anyone knew where to get some Tang, it'd be you. …Shut up!

Did you actually get to see the rod?

Psycho and Vertigo too. Somehow, they skipped over my avatar's flicks (until the craptacular recent episode). But they pulled off a little Scorsese somewhere in there. "I hate every ape I see, form chimpan-A to chimpanzee."

I love how often they managed to squeeze in a Planet of the Apes spoof in the golden years. "Oh my God, I was wrong, it was Earth all along…"

@avclub-2b6834ce56000032e3740153c3f24176:disqus  I got into Fellini because of him as well. And Louis Malle's movies. Heck, the moment I heard about Vanya on 42nd Street, I leapt onto the bandwagon! And discovered my deep love of Marshall McLuhan through him. I wish I could write like Allen.

Rosemary's Baby was pretty phenomenal in that respect, too.

I'm Canadian. One of our icons is Leonard Cohen. A Jewish Montrealer who spent most of his career dating and sleeping with extremely beautiful women. He's been called the "master of erotic despair". Every country has their rapscallions who become popular.

I loved Cries and Whispers. It was a hard film to watch on an emotional level. His use of bold colours and stark designs just made me a little uneasy from the opening shot. And I loved the sequence where Agnes is walking on the ground, reminiscing about her mother.

I'm tearing through a history of cinema, and Bergman is my blind-spot. I mean, I've watched all of Woody Allen's work, and he isn't always at his best. I think I'll try to cover it all, these suggestions that is.

I wish I knew more about Bergman beyond casual allusions to him in Woody Allen's work. And I watched Cries and Whispers the other day. Anyone mind giving me a small Bergman crash course? Aside from Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries, I kinda want to explore him.
