I saw Leonard Cohen in Ottawa. And while the whole concert was fantastic, my favorite tune he sang was The Partisan. Such a good moment.

Vicks, you're my favorite kind of crazy.

I absolutely love this show, and its real world problems. Cultural organizations in Canada (I have no clue outside of here, I got to say) are struggling with finding new ways to engage audiences in the arts. The funny thing is, the only blockbuster theater shows, outside of musicals, are Shakespeare. Nothing else…

Eh, I still love the show, so it's no struggle finding a reason to want to watch it. It's too bad, though, that the writers won't be engaging with the material for a while. It's still such a wonderful show to watch.

Pretty fucking stoked! That is all.

I meant the song, but the record - by virtue of having the title song and The Secret Life of Arabia - wins all my heart.

Purple Rain?
OK, seriously, "Heroes" has my favorite everything of all time.

My mother said, to get things done, you'd better not mess with Iman. She's tough.

It's such a sharp piece of self-reflexivity, and all at once very surprising and not at all atypical of Bowie. When I'd heard he was releasing a new record, I was so excited. And now that I've heard it all, I had good reason to be.

Correction: he makes all music look like some mid-level indie band **

I think you're misinterpreting my meaning. I mean, the Simpsons, for a good decade were the ritz. If they don't have that proper skill later in their years, so be it. Peanuts is the same in that respect. I come not to bury the Simpsons, but to praise Peanuts.

Well, there's mention of the Simpsons in the thread. I figure, why not choose Schulz? He's got a few years of perfection, and then a few years of less-than-perfection.

Somewhere in there, Peanuts is pretty high on my list. Not everything, but there's a gold standard of excellence when Schulz was pealing back the layers of his depression and anxiety. Same goes for my much loved A Charlie Brown Christmas. It's just golden.

Absolutely! It's easy to create broad stereotypes, hard to write thinking and feeling people with whom Lorelai would disagree. I'm happy there were two or more sides to the issues they felt.

I watched the whole thing two years ago. And love it! Keep on watching, it gets to be worth it.

Now I feel like Gilmore Girls is all about covering a permanent wound with a temporary bandage.

Or when he leaves Maris and when he's leaving the house/castle, he yells, "Have I lost my MIND!?" I absolutely love his physicality and anger. It's great!

I miss Frasier. Especially this episode. "I love you in buckskin!"

We need to portray Americans as less than, it's our only defense mechanism after being seemingly polite.

Todd said that it didn't get enough readers, so there'll be no more Cheers reviews. I feel sorta like they cancelled Christmas.
