Seriously, how good are these actors?! Somehow, when I see why people would find Ruth or Brenda or anyone else self-indulgent or annoying or what have you, I just think they're deftly portrayed, however low they get to. Man, Rachel Griffiths has not has as good a role as this. And Frances Conroy is wonderful! Lauren

I think the Diaz a bit of a silly idea, in large part because the funerary service is largely an essential one, and therefore they would get business regardless of the name on the door. It's a weird way to target your market, when it's anyone at any given time.

My my, patronizing much? I don't think Mad Men is hoary enough to stoop to shock value. I don't think this is a show about business, but rather about the nebulous concept of happiness. I think a suicide was bound to happen. It's Camus brought to television. Now, I'll grant that Six Feet Under was imperfect, sometimes

Your argument is that character death in shows like Six Feet Under, a TV show that's thematic core is life and death, and the Sopranos, a TV show that disputes good and evil through its charismatic titular mob boss character, Tony Soprano, are examples of "the worst offenders". It's not a new strategy, but if done

I love that Grandpa is muttering about lying down during the commercial. He is one of my favorite characters because of his ridiculous old-ness
