Explain the appeal? The quick joke writing. Not physical. It's a big pet peeve of mine that Alison Brie or Busy Philips are looked at and not appreciated beyond their physical appearance.

What he's saying is that Fringe is a serialized drama, and hence has a series-long arc that would be irksome should it be cancelled because it  is well-loved.
