It makes a heck of a lot of sense given the economics of the movie business right now, ie, nothing makes money in theaters lacking a 9-digit budget. They could probably do well to differentiate themselves as a buyer/funder for comedies/dramas/romcoms rather than attempt to compete with all the blockbuster/superhero…
