I’m usually one to side with the gizmodo is garbage talk but in this case it very clearly says “just ahead of spooky season” Sept 6 is the month before October, which is the spooky season.

Halloween is the last Day of October. Spooky season is a larger chunk of the Fall and, arguably, a mindset.

This was my thought, too. One of the big appeals to the original was the stop motion and the practical sets of the underworld. I have no desire to see the Sandworm-infested afterlife as this overblown CGI spectacle.

That would be nice if they used stop motion in the sequel.  I didn’t think there needed to be a beetlejuice 2 but also I’m part of the problem since I’ll end up seeing it in theaters. Hopefully Alamo Drafthouse does a double or has a movie party again for Beetlejuice.

That sounds like a pretty solid retirement plan.  ;-)

I am happy for him. It felt like Hollywood forgot about him for a large stretch of the 2000s so I am 100% behind him cashing in now.

Placed an online order at a local taco place recently for pickup.  It required a minimum 15% tip to complete the order plus an added $3.00 “extra charge” for who knows what.  I cancelled.

Tipping should absolutely die because it’s dumb, but waiters and bar staff are NOT getting paid by their employers without tipping.

Not in many states. Where I live servers get about $3 an hour, about enough to cover the taxes on claimed tips.

Yup.  Its the same thing with phishing emails/telemarketers.  Many people will avoid the trap but enough will do it that its makes financial sense to keep throwing the hook out there.

There are also countless stories of employees not getting their share of the tips.  Food is already too expensive to be asking me for even more at the checkout.

Tips are for people like servers/bartenders who work in a restaurant and are underpaid and actually perform a service for you. I’d never leave tip for a vending machine and rarely do at a self-service stand where all the person is doing is handing me my order. I’ll usually leave a tip for the guy cooking at the

Self-checkout would be the place I’d feel the least guilty at for not tipping.

It should not be the customers job to pay the employees.

I feel zero remorse or guilt when I press the No Tip option on digital pay systems. I will tip when I want to, I do not need a prompt/notification asking if I want to tip. If I’m given great service, I tip, plain and simple. Crappy service? Crappy Tip. Be a dick to me, no tip.

In a similar case, 28-year-old Corey Gary was prompted to leave a tip at a self-service beer fridge in San Diego’s Petco Park. Gary told the Journal that he wasn’t clear where the money was going, but left 20% anyway.

I’m sorry, but this is purely management saying, “We’re not willing to pay employees enough.”

The review makes it sound awesome and that you liked it. The title makes it sound like complete shit and that you hated it. What gives?
