Except that the whole reason I started playing FF games was because I didn’t want that sort of action; I mentioned in another reply that I have arthritis, so that sort of thing is really difficult for me. FF provided me with characters and story and a battle system I could handle.

Fair enough, but I’ve been playing all of them since 7, and starting with 12, the basic turn-based model has been tweaked and changed—and is continuing to be tweaked and changed—in a manner that each iteration takes further and further from the traditional style.

My biggest complaint: the move away from turn-based fighting, and more towards Kingdom Hearts and beyond.

She was *perfect*.

I’ve been a fan of his since “Wicked”, so I’ve kind of made it a point to see the stuff he’s in.

The more I think about it, the more I think this needs to happen. Do you have Facebook? Easier to message over there.

Mr. Dark is DEFINITELY in the top ten unsettling but undeniably sexy villains of all cinematic time category.

Well, that was awesome. =D

goddammit, you beat me to it.

I would watch the bejeezus out of that.

Yes! I stumbled upon this info while looking at Jerome’s IMDB page. I asked my husband if it was a real thing, and he said, “Oh yeah, they were a huge thing in England when I was in my 20’s”. Do yourself a favour and check out their other songs. Awesomely surreal.

The existentialism of it scared me as much as the “scary” stuff did. All of Mr. Dark’s scenes with Jason Robards are terrifying.

Me too. Still one of my favourites, 32 years later.

...OF DEATH.

Oooh. That would have been really interesting.

I love it. They added a few things, but I think they largely kept to the spirit and tone of Bradbury’s book, which isn’t easy to do.

Both fantastic movies. And yes, he’s amazing in both of them.

Mr. Dark was notable for me, because he was the first real bad guy I ended up having a (confused) crush on. I was 10 when “Something Wicked” came out. You don’t forget these formative things. =P

Jonathan Pryce just joined the show, and he will ALWAYS be Mr. Dark for me.

I was a fan of Robson before, thanks to the Wire in the Blood series. Then I started watching Thrones and Ripper Street, and my British husband had to tell me about their singing partnership. So weird. So wonderful.
