That series came out when I was 13, just before I started high school. Every single girl I knew, including me, was desperately in love with Crombie’s Gilbert. He was the boyfriend/husband of our dreams. We used to spend sleepovers swooning about him.

No, but I found a painting when I was 18 that looks (well, looked) exactly like me. Freaked me and everybody I know right the hell out.

Especially since they must have encountered “a really BAD full-body gorilla suit”, in order to make a comparison. Two stories there!

omg, she loves Jameson Parker, too. I think she’s now my favourite contributor.

I JUST came here to say that.

Well, it didn’t hurt that I had long, blonde hair growing up, and my best friend had long, black hair (and yes, the entire neighbourhood called us “Betty and Veronica”). Once I got a bit older, I realised that Jughead and Dilton had good characteristics, too.

I’m Team Betty! Reading these comics my whole life, I decided I wanted to be more like Betty, and NOTHING like Veronica. They were very formative for me.

Absolutely agree. I’ve been an Archie fan for about 37 years (I discovered them when I was 6), and never have I been more proud to be such than the past couple of years. The inclusion of Kevin Keller, the whole death of Archie storyline, and now the Afterlife series—this is a company that is not going to be cowed by

Mine was medical, but I had known since I was about 12 I didn't want kids and was begging to get everything scooped out. True to form, asshole doctors made me wait because I "might change my mind". Yeah, and I "might punch you in the throat" during one of the hemorrhaging, pain-filled weeks I called a period.

Disorganised-type serial killer?

I had a total hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy when I was 30. Does that make me a spree killer or a mass murderer? These are important distinctions, people.

I guess the sticking point here is that you’re asserting that they don’t currently do that. I was saying they’ve been known to either do it or be obliquely involved in it in the past. So I guess we’re talking about two different time periods.

De nada. Glad I could make your day.

Yes, except the difference is that roadkill was killed in an accident. Burke & Hare killed those people specifically to provide bodies. And again, there were some indications that the medical establishment knew of the provenance of many of its cadavers, but chose to look the other way.

Now playing

I agree, but sometimes that rule might be broken. For instance, I love this version by Voltaire:

She looks like she should be haunting a bog somewhere.

I will never understand this. I have inhaled books all my life. I love books. But I love reading MORE. Yes, books smell great and whatever, but since I got my Kobo almost 4 years ago, I have read far faster, further, and more than I ever did with books. Also, I have arthritis, so holding up books had gotten difficult

Oh for the love of....go back into your little crybaby cave. Not everything is something to get your knickers in a twist over.
