Any kind of melee combat would probably have you armed. Grappling and unarmed martial arts can’t really work in VR. You can still have your hands disappear if you’re playing with swords or light sabers or whatever since the bubble doesn’t have to extend very far.

And I absolutely hate them. In the early game it costs 6-9 turns to produce one. Then it’s gone immediately. If barbarians damage something (because their AI is hilariously leaps and bounds better than enemy civs) you have to spend all that time making another builder.

Really the only scenario in which it can be damaging to the game is if you can dismiss enemies in pvp. Being able to hide others or yourself is inconsequential in most cases. It’s a good tool to have on an individual level if the features of the game do not require player contact and I’m unsure how people can complain…

There’s nothing extra to code here. The Wii U had two screens so any ported games required extra work to add gamepad features. The switch has one screen and going from portable to tv is a system side process that developers don’t have to worry about. Easy to develop and port for.

The hardware isn’t actually that gimmicky though. The system doesn’t support two displays and going from tv display to portable would be handled by nintendo’s code and not the game developer. It doesn’t seem hard to develop for at all since you don’t need to change features.
