The Least Interesting Man In The World

Yeah but that is one of those “never meet your heroes cars.” I had the (mis)fortune to drive one a few times and it’s just brutal. Imagine the clutch from the Countach, a driving position that requires yoga instruction, no soundproofing at all (seemingly) and giant knobby tires.

Have you ever talked to a non-car person? They don’t want to drive something interesting or something different or something that stands out in a parking lot. They want to fit in.

I was me!!! I bought it for my wife for Christmas.

And how many do you pass between Dallas and El Paso? Tesla has several superchargers along that route. Sure, you can find an outlet for the Bolt, but you will be there for 4 to 6 hours instead of 30 min with the Tesla. And yes, I’ve checked. Lots of “fast chargers” in metro areas, virtually non between cities.

I bet the NV1500 etc rides way better on American highways where speed limit is often 70mph or above. Huge disadvantage to cabovers is they ride like a hay truck at fast speed. Less driver fatigue = safer, more miles per day, more efficiency, more worker production

I have no idea. It could be a part of it. It could also be, and I’m very uninformed here, that they preferred to have something more conventional (from a US perspective) for the US. With room for big old thirsty gas engines mated to torque converters in stead of the more compact and more efficient European market

And a Duramax makes 765 lb-ft with just one turbo.

Yeah, who likes clean air and water? Not me if it means I have to pay one red penny in taxes for it! /s

The only argument I can offer is that the 2JZ will be a rev happier engine than ye olde Windsor. Just personal opinion, but I like me a rev happy engine.

It's not the fact that you personally don't like it. It's the fact that every time you and so many others on Jalopnik talk about the fact that you don't like it, you come off as arrogant and judgmental towards people that do like it for what it is, and sometimes towards people who simply have a different perspective

Why pick on just donks? There's all sorts of crap people do to their cars. Like sticking fake plastic vents on the fenders. Or putting a set of fake HID blue lights in your shitty little econo-box. Or getting some ridiculously large, gas-guzzling full size truck when all you're going to do with it is commute to work
