Nailed it.

Midwest Detroiter here. I’ve driven around California enough to know that plenty of that state’s drivers just don’t GAF about the what’s going on around them while they drive. I witnessed, and avoided, shitbox cars hauling ass down the 5 and every other freeway. I’m not saying all Californians drive like shit, but so

I am in no way condoning theft, but consider this. These robots run around a city that’ currently experiencing a homeless epidemic. If I were one of these people living on the sidewalks of LA, I wouldn’t think twice about grabbing the food out of one of these cute little buggers. To me, if I were in that situation, it

I couldn’t agree more! It wasn’t my first time or last time in the great state of CA, so the giant sequoia are on my list. We did see the redwoods (also the Bigfoot Museum LOL) near Santa Cruz that year, but I have much more of CA to explore.

I avoid freeways 90% of the time unless absolutely necessary. This rule stands no matter how far we drive. Sometimes it may be necessary, but as much as possible, I’ll take the scenic route. I’ll even go out of my way to take what looks like a fun route including a two-track mostly dirt road mountain pass from Los

I don’t understand. This happened once to my dad back in the early 90s. He stalled, along with other drivers, not far from the station. The station paid for the tow and to have his car fixed along with the others. It wasn’t even an issue to get the station to take care of it.

It’s about tradition for sure. However, between that, the traditional “gumball” on the roof, and that beautiful blue color, you have to admit that Michigan State Troopers undoubtedly have the best looking police cars on the road.

“No, you just change it up to AerFlo or something.”

Unsanitary? They should spend day in the Warren Truck Assembly plant.

I would drive around downtown on a Sunday 20 years ago and it was definitely a ghost town compared to a Friday or Saturday night. A lot has changed in the past 10 years. Pedestrian traffic is constant downtown seven days a week. It’s definitely not as densely populated as a city its size could be, but I’m pretty happy

It started to get better in the 90s and is a pretty amazing place now. Lots of people, new development/housing, continuously-improving neighborhoods, a food scene comparable to NY or LA, a car scene unlike any other place in the world, and it’s all pretty damn safe too.

You’ve obviously never been to Detroit and have zero idea of what it’s really like. Take your misguided opinions back to The Truth About Cars. They love to give shitty and uninformed opinions like yours.

As someone who drives within and around Detroit on a weekly basis, I can concur with your complaint. I only honk my horn with someone starts to merge into me or pull out in front of me because they don’t see me (usually staring at their phone while driving).

As much as I hate that AM radio seems to be filled with a bunch of right-wing propaganda or religious zealots yelling at me, I believe that AM radio still is a great opportunity for community radio stations in non-metropolitan areas. I’d always hoped that AM radio would become cheap enough to support this kind of

That’s not what he’s saying and you know it. You’re going out of your way to be an asshole.

I purchased my 392 Challenger new in 2020 and I’m still in love three years later. The car will never be sold.

This has always been the case since I started driving in the late 80s.

The train station remained operational until 1988. It did sit unused until is was purchased by Matty Maroun and purposely abandoned. He wanted to use the property for his trucking and bridge company (his family still owns the Amabassador bridge to/from Canada), but was trying to get the city to pay for demolishing the

With the train station almost complete and the Packard plant nearly demolished, the last two infamous symbols of Detroit’s longtime neglect will be no more. I’m not sure what hipster “urban explorers”, photographers, and ill-informed bloggers will be able to gravitate toward anymore around here. They’ll actually have
