Congrats and welcome to Detroit. If you haven’t chosen a place to live yet, try to rent somewhere not far off of Woodward Ave in Oakland County so you don’t have to drive far to meet up for one of DT’s meet-ups.

To be fair, this plant was originally a small supply factory owned by Chrysler. DamilerChrysler worked out a partnership with a Tier 1 supplier and eventually sold off the whole place to the Tier 1, which left the UAW high and dry. It’s only right that the UAW gets to represent the workers in this plant again.
This one is somewhere between a 78 an 80 (pre 81 redesign). Being a GM of that vintage in the rust belt of Chicago, I’m sure this thing started rusting before it ever left the shipping lot at the factory.
Yup! With the new building code laws in place (whatever they were called again) and large entities announcing their “escape”, it only makes my dream of retiring on the west coast that much closer to reality.
White Gen X-er here checking in. I had the same thought before I read your comment. Someone needs to truly fuck with person in the worst way and bricks or molotov cocktails through the window on a daily basis is a good start.
LOL
May be biased, but I have to mention the Dodge Ramcharger. It never seems to get the same recognition as its Bronco or Blazer counterparts. There were two designs built from 1972 to 1993 (a Mexican market-only version being built for a few years in the mid to late 90s based on the 93 Dodge Ram chassis, but we don’t…
My buddy towed a small 4x8 trailer with his Focus.
Six-hundred miles is more or less the distance between New York City and Detroit, which Google says is a 10-hour drive, which is more than a lot of people would want to drive in one day.
Model 3s will be used to source useful parts for old EV conversion rods and customs . Much like Camaros and Mustang IIs were sourced for their subframes with the rest of the car being shit-canned.
Came here to post this. Thank you
I have a general unhealthy animosity toward M-B based on the what happened with DCX. However, cool car at a cool price.
Hearing about this for the first time yesterday afternoon, it makes me sad, disgusted, and angry. My family and I will be spending this winter in southern Orange County (trying to hide from shitty Detroit winters). Assuming that cleanup will still be required, we plan to volunteer.
Absolutely! We didn’t get it running until the 100 mile marker on the Ohio turnpike while gassing up the truck. It never drove under its own power until Friday evening at about 8:30 and it was for a short jaunt around the small parking lot paddock area. We ran it all day Saturday and won all six races.
Yes! 28 Model A chassis, 324 Olds V8, Dodge Brothers cowl, 49 Cadillac radiator, and 54 Ford truck axle.
I was just mentioning to my club brothers the other day that I want to sell my pickup and replace it with a slant-six Valiant. Once they were done laughing they realized I was serious.
Not supporting organized labor is what’s killing the things that you want the most. Things like a decent wage, healthcare, and pensions. Shit that my dad had and retired with and asks me why I don’t just get a job like he had. I’m almost 50 and have been fucked over decade after decade as the right continues to…
