This is in part because of experience Toyota has that GM simply doesn’t.”

That is unfortunate. The Netflix DTS series is more than good enough for unfiltered truth and drama. No need for manipulation

Dealer recalls involving large parts (like driveshafts) sometimes do need to be ordered on a case-by-case basis. It’s a way for the OE to save money, and it avoids burying a supplier with x-thousand parts due next month when the recall letters get sent.

The folks trying to buy a Pan America for sure wish that were true!

No, not just inspired by Tesla’s Battery Day: All companies are moving to / have moved to dedicated press events to highlight whatever they darn well please. Think of these as “Auto Show Replacement Therapy.”

Ahem. Fog, rain, snow, glare, and road spray would like to have a word with your camera-based safety system.

Doesn't DTS already have full comms (albeit months later, just like the NFL parabolic mics)?

Agree, but as in the case of doctors: “First, do no harm.” As a cop, if you can’t handle the pressure, then walk away. Shooting because you’re “jumpy” is zero excuse.

Big EV fan here. Just surprised that Honda, who have a reputation for being a tech leader, are now leaning on GM for battery tech and production.

Excellent sarcasm, which not everyone here appreciates, apparently. Well played.

Heck, they even moved their HQ from CA to TX. Employees were less than thrilled. Not union jobs, but yet more automotive jobs moving from blue to red.

“All Tesla Autopilot input is error.”

Stellantis-made vehicle ompany parking. Profits went there, you get to park there.

No fine, just a super-sticky sticker. They’ll tow you for multiple offenses, though.

GM started the same way. The likelihood (IMHO) of Tesla selling foreign-built cars in the US in the near future is high.

Well, most folks in Tennessee would proudly say their state has nothing to do with any of the blue ones, so, ya, technically foreign. :-)

Indeed. Worth noting, though, that Detroit 3 plants in Canada and Mexico are unionized (just not UAW).

As a foreign company doing business in the US, they know that extra scrutiny is warranted. They placed their bets; as Americans, we get to spin the wheel.

Yes, and yes.
