Would it be a stretch to say Tesla would just ship the car with a crappy liftgate handle, while GM is holding back production for it?

Yeah my favorite environmental target is Fiji Water, A plastic bottle full of stuff that comes out of the ground almost everywhere shipped halfway around the world in a container ship then hauled a thousand miles in a diesel truck, for what?

How ironic, when Bob Lutz said in an interview that GM should have made the Prius but didn’t. (I read this many, many years ago, but he essentially said that they squandered their lead with the EV1 and he wished they had built the Prius before Toyota did.) They had like ... 2 or 3 other chances, and screwed them all

The problem with making cheap EVs straight out of the gate is that you immediately have a catch-22 supply and demand crisis, because you won’t have economy of scale yet to keep prices down, and you won’t have enough profit to scale. That’s why everybody is shooting for “Designer EVs” first, because the profit margins

I’m a “younger” and never really had any desire to have a Cadillac, not dislike just indifference. But that stupid and annoying ad they have been running nonstop with the overly dramatic conductor and annoying song you can’t get out of your head makes me actually dislike them.

Sounds to me like making a modern BEV isn’t as easy as the Tesla haters like to claim. And maybe, just maybe, Tesla’s overall quality isn’t that bad after all...

How am I not surprised she basically just copied an AP article, posted it as her own and still managed to leave out a very important part.

Between copying the first and third paragraphs from the AP article she linked and then doctoring them slightly, Candace missed copying the rather important second paragraph from the AP article. It kind of explains why he’s in trouble again, pretty important context:

The crossover’s wheelbase is six inches longer than before, as well as 11 inches longer overall and two inches wider.”

This should not be a CUV. They take the tiny efficient motor and put it in the tall heavier less aerodynamic shape of a CUV and only manage 32mpg. If this were in a hatch or especially a wagon, it would be lighter, have the same or more cargo space, and be more aerodynamic and easily get closer to 40mpg. small CUVs

I did not have “Chevrolet will release an attractive, appealing, and well-designed vehicle” on my 2023 bingo card.

It’s just crazy to me that $21k makes this not just the cheapest car from Chevy, but one of the cheapest new cars in America. You’ve got the Cheap King Mirage at $17k, the Venue and Soul at almost $20k, and that’s about it.

4 inches less tall and 11 inches longer, only available in fwd. It's a Malibu MAXX.

You aren’t wrong. I would argue Subaru already does that with the CrossTrek. It’s just a lifted Impreza, which is otherwise a wagon (or 5 door hatchback) rather than a crossover.

I honestly don’t mind the look. It’s a Lotus-y EV SUV. Exactly as promised. It incorporated some elements of Lotus’ modern design DNA, and sticks it onto an SUV body - that really can’t be all that different from every other SUV - almost by definition (ie. it needs 4 doors, a rear hatch, some ground clearance and

These new “performance SUVs” look like overgrown hatchbacks to me. The Purosangue (62.6” tall) and Urus (64.5” tall) have that same look. And now with the growing trend of “coupe” SUVs, that trade off the utility of a traditional SUV for improved aero, it feels like at some point we will come full circle and they will

These are only really so that Smug people can say their SUV is faster than a Lamborghini. Meanwhile actual supercar owners and other people don’t care. Looks like it’ll weigh about 4400lbs which is not bad for an EV but man, the tech is nice and what a time to be alive where we can give people this level of power and

Can we really call this an SUV when it sits at 64" tall? It’s like 6" taller than a GTI.

If an unborn embryo was run over by one of these trains, maybe then we could get enough votes to do something.

Go around - It’s a 1 mile hike. Kids are not going to hike 1 mile to go around and another mile to get back on track. Even adults won’t do it.
