When was the last time you went out to a local race track and watched actual ‘stock cars’ racing around for a Saturday evening?

so many people on here have absolutely zero idea what goes on with nascar.. it hurts my head sometimes
No, still running with individual throttle bodies.
The difference between “restrictor plates” and “tapered spacers” is mostly semantic. Airflow to the intake manifold is still substantially restricted compared to the “unrestricted” open plenums run at non-plate races before 2019.
Formula Student used to have some pretty big wings. This car is an ‘open wheel’ car by their rules.
Also CARB.
It happens. I know of one years ago. But almost never probably, and when it does the car is not immolated in three seconds.
Unfortunate but Ford still has the record for most self combusting cars.
Teslas may be less likely to catch fire than other cars (debatable) but other than instances where cars need recalls regular vehicles aren’t going to spontaneously combust sitting parked or require an entire fire engine’s worth of water to put out either. Then have to be monitored for reignition afterwards for quite…
There’s a difference between your engine running out of oil because of poor maintenance and starting an engine fire under the hood and your car... exploding.
I’m curious why you think “perfectly framed” is evidence of conspiracy in this case. Of course it’s perfectly framed as that camera’s job is to monitor those parking spots.
This is good Jalopnik:
You’re being ridiculous. This is obviously a high-end residential building considering these are all very expensive cars in China. Each of those cars probably cost well over $100k to purchase in China. Possibly closer to $150k-$200k. These are RICH people. These are the people that would buy McLarens and Bentleys if…
People forget that Li-ion batteries in general are unstable on their own and require electronics to manage them. The tech has gotten reliable enough that we don’t think about it but pack so many of those cells together and it’s no surprise stuff like this happens (Tesla or not).
Airlines ban Teslas from carry-on luggage in 3...2...1....
How many of those fires were in vehicles that were just sitting around, minding their own business?
“Tesla is adamant that its cars are significantly less likely to catch fire than your average car” - but once it’s safely parked, it is like a Samsung phone - charging and ready to explode
Gears heads: EVs can’t shoot flames, so I don’t want one
Before you get rid of it completely, can you maybe just attach whatever fault this is to a big red “self-destruct” button instead?
This is why they should ban recharging centers in Taco Bell parking lots.
