I’ve literally never heard the traction motors on those. Kind of hard to when there’s a 4,400 hp diesel engine rumbling over them.

All good ideas for other reasons (including environmental), but public transit still emits tire particles (busses) and brake dust (literally any vehicle).
Or Kodak...
It weighs way more.
It probably won’t make a dent in highway driving (24 mpg). City driving is only rated for 16 mpg in the Stingray, so that tiny battery would have to do A LOT of heavy lifting to get that above 30 for the E-Ray...
Audi is supposedly going all-EV as well, and they’re also interested in F1.
I doubt this technology can scale enough to power every car currently in existence (it’s VERY energy intensive to make this stuff), but it doesn’t matter, because the overwhelming majority of those cars are soulless transportation appliances anyway, so it doesn’t matter if they’re EVs or not. As long as they can…
Or Popeye.
Tesla does the same thing with Ludicrous Mode, only I believe it’s even more ridiculously restrictive, and cuts power when the battery dips below 90% (or when it overheats and shits itself - whichever comes first).
Take a look at the specs listed at the bottom of the article. This is still a fat pig like most EVs, but it’s nowhere near 6k lbs. No idea where Kyle got that much higher figure at the beginning of the article, but I assume that’s the GVWR instead of curb weight.
Given how Tesla has designed all their other interiors, you’re still surprised the semi interior is also useless?
And they were correct 20 years ago. They did face an uphill battle. Back then they could barely get out of your driveway before running out of juice and could barely outrun a small dog chasing them.
Not to mention electric motors can easily top 90% efficiency. You’d practically have to be trying to be bad at your job if you designed one that was only 50% efficient...
The write of the article that Erin is quoting is apparently an associate physics professor. Kinda concerning that someone that terrible at math is teaching physics. It’s also hilarious he assumes an electric motor is only 50% efficient. He knows we wouldn’t using early 1900s DC motors to power these things right? The…
That’s the thing, ACTUAL cases of DUI seem to never actually get punished, even if you kill someone. You can have multiple actual DUIs and be in and out of jail like a revolving door, but won’t see a lengthy sentence until you kill someone. Even then, and even if you kill multiple people, you can get out of prison…
Or like one of the Canoo rolling suppositories...
Flint is actually quite a drive from Detroit.
Plus, fast != interesting. It’s all subjective anyway. Personally, I still think it’s boring, even though I can appreciate the achievement.
So Suzuki is the motorcycle/small vehicle equivalent of Mitsubishi?
Why would he care about that? You think he actually cares about the environment? I highly doubt he cares even slightly about the climate crisis beyond his ability to make money off of it. If anything, the worse it gets, the more lucrative his businesses look.
