yup, we’d be friends.

I agree with everything except the second half of the last sentence of your first paragraph (whee!).

As long as it’s an actual intake for practical purposes (even if it’s just aero to reduce drag at the tail), I’m okay with it. It’s when you get things like this for no reason that they start to bother me. Designers: know that you can make use of this space, see the Ford GT’s flying buttresses for reference.

True, I went back and read the reviews after posting (maybe I should have done that first...I’ll get order of operations right one of these days), but it looks like there are several in the $40-$100 range that are much better, if not as small as the one here. Basically, I’m agreeing with the OP that the price is too

You’re probably right, I’ve probably spent the last 16 years apologizing “to this idiot” and have completely neglected to do anything else with my life. You know me so well.

Perhaps he wasn’t aware of that site? I’ve been in ATX since ‘99 and this is the first I’ve heard of it.

clearly not. Last time I saw a real flash flood I drove across a street that was mildly damp, at ~20mph by the time I was past the area that was affected (approx 90’) my car was being pushed. The semi next to me wasn’t so lucky. If you can go from an open road to disabling an 18 wheeler that fast, it becomes difficult

Not that I’ll be able to sway you because internet, but there’s reason for the word ‘flash’ in a flash flood. You won’t really know ‘till you’ve seen it, then you won’t be so quick to judge.

This may be only one sentence, but it’s the best review I’ve read yet. I was thinking of getting that unit...perhaps I’ll wait for the software to come up to speed so the price has a bit of a chance to drop.

seems legit.

Is it odd that I thought the exact same thing while scrolling through this list? Great minds?

Wow, yeah, that is a lot of driving. Honestly, if I didn’t have the car I’ve got (S2000 FTW), or didn’t have that little stretch of road to make the commute a little fun, I’d prefer to have an auto. Eventually, I’m planning on having this be our 3rd car that sticks around just for fun. As soon as I can get my grubby

Automatics are definitely better for stop ‘n’ go traffic and crap weather, manuals are better for feeling connected to the vehicle. It’s nice to have both, and I’m looking forward to when a robot can do 90% of my commute for me (there’s a nice twisty road on my way home, I’ll drive that little part).

Give it some time. I converted to Manualism back in ‘07 and thought I’d never do anything but drive behind the wheel again. After about a year or so, you become the automatic transmission, a part of the system. Feels good. Once it’s easy enough to be doable without thought, you’ll find yourself doing most of the

Choosing between having water to drink and no water to drink? So, you’re boiling the options down to: grow lawn and die, or have only dirt and live? Those are some super bleak options and way more extreme than adding a fake lawn. Also, if you’re not adding a fake lawn for looks, then what’s the point?

Yeah, I’m definitely the troll when the OP posts that they live in a nice, wet climate that’s not going through a drought and can’t understand the mentality of someone who is and wants a nice lawn they don’t have to fuss with. Get off my rice paddies!

Xeriscaping is great for the kids who want to play out in the rocks. Actually, having grown up in ol’ El Paso, I’m more familiar with xeriscaping than I am epic lawns, and I can say with full confidence that I’d rather have a sweet, sweet, faux grass shag carpet.

Agreed, I’m arguing in favor of the artificial turf. The old stuff was bad at best, but the newer ones are super nice. If I had the money I’d replace my lawn...no more upkeep would be amazing.

And. Replace. It. With. What. A vaccuum? You can’t not have something, you think a dirt patch looks better? Or perhaps a solid slab of glorious concrete?
