except for people that have health issues and disabilities they are a necessity. I cut my grass because I can’t spare the money and because I can but I have a friend with a lot of health issues, severe allergies among them. She absolutely could not cut her grass...and saying she should sell her house is not realistic.

right, but dogs still actually do work for us and with us. Service dogs, police dogs, sheep dogs, security dogs all serve a purpose beyond just the companionship and unconditional affection dogs provide(which in and of itself is worth everything). Even if we don’t utilize them as much as we used to—and that’s on us,

yep, it wasn’t that bad --adequate B movie shark fare-- and at least tried to be a real follow up. IIRC wasn’t the one son terrified of the water? Also the story did not involve a vengeful shark that followed the family to get revenge, so there’s that.

probably because their parents though Angel and Ireland were pretty names, which they are.

This. He was lucky it was the right family. If it was my family, somebody would have been in jail for assault and the rest would have been raising the money to bail them out and celebrating the ass whupping.

Just bought the Sun Joe a couple of weeks ago for about $20 more damn it! It’s great for a small yard, but be warned the bag fills up quickly and be sure and set it on the highest cut setting for easiest cutting.

There is no discourse. This is not a debate, this is a war and going high when they go low is going to get us buried in a mass grave. Most martyrs die for the cause, too bad he wasn’t one of them.

I know 70's/80's martial arts movies are a big part of it.

But see, that’s very compelling to me in a romantic partner. And, I’d argue that Tom Hanks fits that exact description as well.

came to say how much Sleepless in Seattle ruined rom coms for me, and seemed to start(possibly not) the trend of people dumping people they were perfectly happy with 5 mins ago for flights of fancy romance, and unearned happily ever afters(seriously, my hate for this movie is monumental)....stayed for the Joe vs the

The 5 stages of an actors life

nah,Tom Welling went from rent boy to daddy. James Marsden always looks like “the kid”. He always struck me as a Not Tom Cruise.

we really liked it, though it took a few episodes to kick into gear(honestly why I love binge watching). It had a very different flavor than the movies really digging in on developing the vampire world from the wikipedia entry “What the series is, in a weird way, is kind of like a Wiseguy with vampires,”

obviously not answering for Laura but I know I, and I imagine most people, have movies that we like or even love that are objectively not great films. I mean I’ll take Grease II over Grease any day of the week. The new Ghostbusters was fine and I will gleefully watch B and C movies all day long. I can ignore plot

I think it’s terrific and I’m a noir fan. It’s a nice subversion of the genre.

He did. IIRC he was at the baby shower with Felix in the last episode and a couple of eps before that, Felix introduced him to Mrs. S as his future husband or something like that(jokingly but it seemed to at least imply they were going to get serious)

Also, I think because rape is so often associated with sex, which is why victim blaming is so prevalent, making a point of the ages cuts off the “but what did she do to ask for it?” at the balls. It’s ageism of course, but no one is thinking a 34 year old man found a 60 year old woman hot.

am I imagining things or did I not see quiltbag used as a sort of anagram?

I imagine the kind who, at 15 had her little sister murdered next to her. Considering he never had to pay for his act in any way(hearsay is that he bragged about getting away with it), and waited until the statute of limitations was up before confessing, and never said a word of regret or apology for his actions, if

Up. Not that it doesn’t earn tears, because it does, but the scenes that gets me, even just thinking about them are the scenes with Doug. I mean I don’t think they are supposed to make you want to bawl, they are supposed to be cute and funny but I just think about all the dogs no longer with me and cry like a baby.
