I’m a medical doctor, not! a psychiatrist I must say, but without ever having read anything from @propanejane I confirm that theory, though I would say generally dementia and not specifically Alzheimers. His (and Ivankas) behavior is very typical.

The endgame is that he doesn’t want to be left out of the inner circle of power. As long as he had tradional Republicans backing him “oh that stupid Trump guy, such a joke haha” he was empowered to stand against him.

It is. I haven’t baked a cake for work in a decade. None of my male collegues either. There just is no cake around here and birthdays are mainly ignored. I love it.
