Of course speeding went up. There was nobody on the fucking road due to lockdown.

I think gender reveal parties and other recent attention-grabbing phenomena are all symptoms of an easily remediated problem: we all feel so small and insignificant. If it became more acceptable to celebrate others just for being cool, for being your friends, if it were okay to gather people just because you want a

Pay the dang athletes already.

I have oh so many questions. Grits are “slave food?” Isn’t that quoted statistic low? Grits are amazing, so of course any demographic that understood food would absolutely spend money on grits. How is he going to fund schools on 19 million? For how long? Will they feed the kids grits at the school? I’m not funding a

I would not know what to do with that kind of money per month. Like if I really, really wanted to have an epic time...I guess I could rent out a spa for me and my friends. But I really wouldn’t do that every weekend, so maybe that’s 100k on an epic vacation where we get an entire resort to ourselves. But y’know, let’s

Playing Pain Olympics never works out well. It will just make you self-righteous and everyone else dislike talking to you. The people who get motivated by “everyone else has it worse than you” are outliers.

For all the “lol what about toxic negativity” folks, this is about “don’t pressure people into masking negative emotions when they’re genuinely having a hard time.” There are ways to self-care while not telling your friends to never frown.

The moral of the story is that all extremes are bad.

This point of view makes me wince a little. I am doing well in this pandemic, but really, if you flip up the lid, the reason why has nothing to do with resilience and everything to do with privilege. I’m a white, middle-class homeowner who works in STEM and has no student debt. If my fiance and I were to lose our jobs

This is basically how “good” capitalism is supposed to work. Company decides to adopt kind policies and boot the assholes; more people use their goods and services; company realizes these policies are getting them money and thus adopt more kind policies, etc.

So wait a second, he got refused because his girlfriend, who is an independent human being from him with her own will and own desires and own ability to do stuff, put a tweet online?

But why would you?

Zero tolerance has been hell on schools. Kids are getting hauled in for stuff like keychains shaped like tiny guns, or anything that might *remotely* look like a knife (including things that obviously aren’t knives).

The orange tip is pretty much a giveaway that it’s a fake weapon. To me, if it’s good enough for a convention of 30,000 or more people (like every anime/game/etc con), it’s good enough for school.

I’m surprised anyone had time or desire to dig that hard into someone’s personal life but fair enough

Stupid question: what is the big difference between maternity clothes and standard clothes? Except that the belly area has a lot more room or isn’t there?

But why? People don’t just have crises of conscience over a situation that’s working out for them.

One. Canned Duncan Hines milk chocolate frosting. Skip the cake and just eat it. XD

I think I’m the only person alive who was solidly “meh” on Witcher 3. IDK if I need to play earlier games to really like it or what. It wasn’t bad, don’t get me wrong. But to me it had the same appeal as Skyrim, and I only put up with Skyrim’s style of “wander until you find something to do” when I’m too mentally
