She thinks her father molested her sisters. So maybe not surprising.

If anything, Stephen King took the page from Allen. He’s never not in his own movies.
WTF?! Her parents are just as bad as Allen here. Their daughter is asking for them to step in on her behalf, but they’re more concerned with enabling Allen. Gross.
Yeah, the Hemingway story was horrible!
He doesn’t even pay his actors fairly, though! He famously pays SAG minimum, so while technically, women are paid the same as men, it’s because they are being paid the lowest allowable wage. It’s not because he gave women parity .
Also not true. Mariel Hemingway talked about how he kept inviting her to Paris. She kept asking if she would get her own bedroom and he kept avoiding the question. She finally said no when she realized she was not getting a bedroom of her own.
Since his last twenty five movies have had this exact plot, probably. (The fun sidebar is when his character/his standin’s character has a pubescent daughter who helps him trick a woman also young enough to be his daughter into bed. WOKE!)
Also, Manhattan is creepy as fuck.
I had the same thought - Mariel Hemingway definitely described some creepy interactions with him.
He forgets that even if he weren’t, you know, Woody Allen, he still wouldn’t be the poster boy for #MeToo. Doing what you’re supposed to do (not abusing your employees, paying them fairly) doesn’t (or shouldn’t) warrant special recognition.
I’m pretty sure Mariel Hemingway would beg to differ. Didn’t he invite her to go to Paris alone with him when she was still a teenager?
Seriously, and just about all of his movies are some variations on this theme. I was always squicked out by his movies for that reason. Then he started dating Soon Yi and I was like “oh yeah, he writes about creepy pedos because he is one”.
Woody Allen over here taking a card out of the Stephen King writing playbook by just straight up writing a story where he’s the protagonist. Is the main character a director, too?
So, a well-known pedophile brags that he’s never been accused of sexually assaulting a grown woman. I don’t see that as something to brag about.
My guess is it’s a paid shill trying to muddy the waters for history’s sake. It’s nice to know though that this rapist will spend the rest of his life trying to convince everyone that he’s not a rapist.
Are you fucking kidding me with “lower middle class?” Brock Turner is from fucking Oakwood, Ohio. It’s a very wealthy area.
She maintains that she has no memory of the sexual assault (unlike Turner, whose story changed many times, neither Miller nor the witnesses changed their stories) - that doesn’t mean that she has no memory of the aftermath. What’s wrong with telling her story?
Why are you lying?
She said it to her sister at the hospital. They took a quote of her trying to calm her sister about the horror of what had happened, and used it to sum up her experience.
“Stanford swimmer” is a really strange way to spell “rapist.” Because that’s who you’re talking about, right? Rapist Brock Turner, the rapist, convicted of rape?
