I have heard people say that Microsoft “won” simply by making the console “war” obsolete. I mean as you said, Nintendo peaced out years ago and don’t even try to compete. They do their own thing and they make tons of money. Microsoft is more or less at that point. Play their games on PC or Xbox. They don’t NEED you to

I had bought AC: Valhalla like a day before I got my series x. I redeemed it on my One S but didn’t download it. Got my Series X, set it up and then downloaded the X version of Valhalla with no trouble whatsoever. Didn’t have to pick the correct version or anything. It just happened.

This pretty much. Yeah, the Series S/X does have a fancy brand new dashboard and it doesn’t scream “NEXT GEN!”.

Just to clarify, when I say $500 for a 4k machine, I’m talking about the Series X. As great as my PC is, it cannot compare to a series X in terms of power. Even with the deals I got when building it, the Series X ends up being a much better value.

I just built mine last year and it can actually run Cyberpunk, which actually shocked me. It’s not going to go obsolete anytime soon, but $500 for a 4k gaming machine with a lightning fast SSD? Hard to pass that up.

Which is what I was doing at the time. 1080p was perfectly fine for me and even then, I only hit around the 500 mark because of discounts.

Depends on how powerful their PC is. I have a gaming PC and I still got a Series X. I CAN play some recent games on it, but I mostly use it MMOs like FFXIV and some Steam games.

This. I’m damn lucky I built my PC at the beginning of last year. Since then, prices for the same components have shot through the roof. There is no way I could get a PC with Series X performance for $500

Normally. But there’s no way you can make a PC comparable to the Series X for $500.

The second game rather. The first one was boring and bland as sin.

Subtitles are ALWAYS the first thing I look for, being nearly deaf and all.

I really find myself struggling to play it. Like, one of the best things about games like WD is the characterization. This game is just....boring as sin. I can understand caring about the characters because of permadeath, but not as much as, say, a fully fleshed out character.

Exactly. Games from the mid 90s weren’t quite this beautiful. The 90s were all about FMV for the most part. (Wing Commander, I’m looking at you)

Well here’s the thing. That’s only if you’re looking to resell it. I dunno about anyone else, but when I buy a pack of pokemon cards or yu-gi-oh cards, I’m not looking to resell. I pay a price and I get a pack of random cards. If I want to, say, buy a bunch of loot boxes in Overwatch, It’s the same principle.

No worries! I’m pretty good at avoiding spoilers. I played P5 on and off for a year and still didn’t get spoiled on anything.

I’m not that far ahead with it so I skimmed over a lot of that. But I get what you’re saying. It does kinda sound like they tried to have their cake and eat it too. If you’re going to assume people played the previous game then maybe go all in with references and such?

Value is relative. If I buy lootboxes trying to get something specific then how is that different buying cards for the same reason?

8. The beginning is weirdly written for a sequel. They don’t do much to introduce the characters, their stories, roles and the entire concept of the Metaverse, so if I wasn’t coming after P5 and Royal I’d be very confused. At the same time, they avoid namedropping any tidbits from the actual story of Persona 5.

This pretty much. For all the railing about lootboxes, I see them as no different than trading cards. My problem, in games, is when they force you to use the system to get some sort of advantage. But the system itself has been around for years if you collect cards of any type.

Kinda amusing considering how things turn out for most of these characters. But that’s all I’ll say.
