This is typical Chicago—if you have clout, they make the charges disappear. A few years back, the mayor’s (Daley) nephew actually killed a guy during a street fight.  It took years for the victim’s family to even learn who killed him, much less press for prosecution.

What a total crock of shit. It is baffling to me that Smollett gets walk on this shit. But even if the prosecution had followed through, damage is done: this will forever be the “Duke Lacrosse case” of racially motivated hate crimes—i.e., anytime someone wants to cite a single incident of a falsely reported hate crime

sounded exactly like yesterday from someone else

In what world does anyone do undocumented community service and walk away scot free from a laundry list of felonies? It kind of feels like the state attorney thought there wasn’t a strong enough case to move forward with, but why in the world wouldn’t they just say that? This rationale is garbage.

JoJo Siwa

Non-apology apology for being ‘musinderstood’ or ‘taken out of context’ in 3,2,1....

Right? “His sexual needs were his sexual needs.” I can’t even wrap my head around how a person can just say that when the “need” in question is sex with children. Children’s needs—safety, not being raped, not having a trusted adult manipulate and abuse them—greatly outweigh whatever sexual needs Jackson had.

I don’t completely agree with you, but you do have a valid point. The Washington Post had a great article about how one victim’s mom initially said no to overnight visits but eventually relented because MJ bought her a house (or some other big gift? I can’t remember) and groomed her as well with attention and gifts

Agreed. I think it’s evidence that celebrity trumps all for certain people. She more easily empathizes with a wealthy, famous monster than two human beings.

But it doesn’t sound like she doesn’t believe Jackson’s a child molester, it sounds like she thinks Jackson should get a pass because they got to be in his presence and Jackson as much a victim as them because... the parents?

She’s talking about it like it’s just some weird fetish. I just wish the interviewer would

Yeah not surprised either and to some extent it’s definitely a generational thing.

I’m honestly not too surprised over Streisand’s comments. She, like my parents, probably believe that all rapists hide in dark alleys at night and strike at random and all pedophiles are complete strangers who wear trenchcoats and sniff bicycle seats. A sexual predator is never someone you know, but if it is, then

Welp. That's it then. The worst take I've read on child sexual abuse.

Because he was a boy and had breasts, which I think is an actual medical thing called gynecomastia. So maybe that’s why?

It is possible. I was diagnosed with gynecomastia when I was 16. It had gotten to the point where, after three years of having a visibly enlarged chest, some of my “friends” called me “Mantis” because it sounded like “Man Tits”.

I usually don’t snark on women’s appearances, but all day I’ve been seeing that image of Khloe in the sidebar and I can’t help but think she’s going to look at that photo in a few years in chagrin. It’s such a bad look.

If he had gynecomastia, the only diet that would affect that is a starvation diet that would reduce his total body fat to 0%. If he has excess oestrogen, his body will store fat differently than we associate with male bodies. Extreme diets and extreme workouts can or course change that, just as the curviest woman can

  • Nutritionist - While he was overweight, the particular condition for which he received liposuction was due to a hormone issue; a nutritionist could potentially have helped him lose weight (which, great!) but not address this particular problem.

Dumb f*ck 23 year old me: “But I’m different.”

Spoiler alert: I wasn’t different.

If they do it with you. They’ll do it to you.
