As to your first question: When the Nazis began to separate the Jews, they made them wear arm bands to identify them as Jews. This of course progressed and is not the topic of conversation. The point is, the Nazis knew they needed a public way to mark the Jews as different so they could be ostracized. That is step

Hijab is a general term that 'refers to any head, face, or body covering worn by Muslim women or men that conforms to a certain standard of modesty.' Again, my comment said face and face mask and not hijab to eliminate ambiguity. Also, see the picture above the article. Two women, one with her face partially masked

I was unsure of the whole micro-discussion thing but your explanation cleared it up. It can be confusing! I don't want to dismiss someones thoughts or censor them. I don't think that is correct of me. I posted in a public forum to have my thoughts heard and, good or bad responses, am wanting to start a dialogue

Surely you can understand it is frustrating to start a thread about women being forced to cover their faces and the dehumanizing purpose behind it and have the majority of responses be about head scarfs. They are not the same thing nor do I try and equate them.

Which is why I specifically use the terms face and face mask for clarity. Apparently many still think I am discussing head scarfs. Sigh

You have not addressed my point. Which a face mask is intended to dehumanize and take away identity. By requiring women...either through laws, societal pressure, religious upbringing, whatever...to wear face masks, you effectively have created a sub-human class.

I will paint their entire society because their society ALLOWS sharia law to be enforced. These men are not found and prosecuted when they uphold sharia law. The inaction of the majority, no matter how polite and nice they seem, is tacit approval of the minorities' actions. My sister is living in Egypt and has been

So how am I supposed to view the requirement that a woman has to cover her face?

I had a similar Admiral Ackbar response too. Up until that moment, I did not know if the noise was having any effect or if the bill had already passed. It was that moment I felt SB5 would be defeated.

I watched this last night. I cannot put into words the feelings of joy and empowerment that filled me when the gallery drowned out that snake of a Lt. Governor and his roll call for a vote. Victory from the jaws defeat.

You are an idiot.

You are an idiot.

You must remember that Hitler was elected. Democracy is not some cure all for the world's evils. Rule of the majority, otherwise known as mob rule, can be equally as tyrannical and unjust as any other form of government.

I am from Texas. I left 5 years ago and am saddened to see my State be so regressive.

I think people are forgetting one important aspect:

I think The Last of Us created a memorable world that I would enjoy spending more time in. Certainly Joel and Ellie's story is finished. How does creating new stories in this world tarnish Joel and Ellie's story?

Do this:

I agree! I strongly dislike corporate culture and could not imagine slaving away at one for the rest of my life. I am an engineer and my goal is to have my own small to mid-size engineering company (less than 50 employees).

I was in the same boat at you. I was a guest service rep at Target. I did not start my career until I was 27. At first, I felt like I was 'behind'. Now at 32, I don't feel behind at all and feel like there are a lot of opportunities. Keep your chin up and someone will give you an opportunity.
