omg for real. As much as I want to look cute in slouchier/more casual clothes, on my body it just ends up looking sloppy no matter how much effort I put into accessorizing, ironing my clothes, or fixing my hair. I feel I have to put more effort into looking nicer just to be treated decently sometimes (a lot of times).

Holy shit, I think I need a cane or a walker or something... Because, yanno, in my day a fancy top was called a blouse.

Why do we need to follow trends though? Why can’t we each just dress the way that we feel we look best and are at our most comfortable for a particular occasion? You’re uninspired by someone’s Instagram? So the fuck what? Do what you want and stop looking for backup because you’re too much of a weakling to stand on

THANK YOU...this is such a bizarre thing about which to get your knickers in a twist. Upthread there are people bitching about the “awfulness” of embellished camisoles worn with velvet jackets, etc.

Haha I just posted something similar. Also from a Midwestern university. Black pants were the other half of the “fancy top” outfit until the mid-00s for us.

I agree. I think that the jeans and a plain t shirt looks kind of sloppy on me. I see these gorgeous model types who make it look elegant but...I just can’t pull it off.

I just want to know..... why? Why the hell did he do this to her? What was his fucked up teasoning?

You post like you are writing a memo for Google.

No one said to go nuclear, you are putting words on people’s keyboards ;)

Nothing wrong with saying it in front of a witness(es).
