There are so many replies to this saying the same thing! It sounds awful. I grew up in South Australia and every kid had a drink bottle. Like, if you send your kid to school without a drink bottle on the regular, the school would probably contact you about it. Lunch boxes are usually sold with a drink bottle as part

Was just talking to a work friend today who has been long distance (she’s in Australia and he’s in New Zealand) for nearly a year and a half. Still going strong. Hope that helps.

Bake the Gay Away.

I’m gay, and I was thinking maybe this explains why I hate baking.

This! Dems need to shout this from the fucking rooftops.

I would like to dedicate every response to this to a dear male friend, who explained to me men’s progress into adult relationships thusly:

Maaate. I am so bummed out by the sheer volume of “me too” replies to this story.

“Those who support the GOP are forced “into hiding and professional exile” just as Communists were persecuted during the Red Scare.”

It’s code for “women who can pay for their own abortions in private hospitals”.

I graduated in 03. I vividly remember a friend of mine taking no time at all to disable our school’s internet security and then casually downloading an X-rated film, among other things. We were never caught and as far as I know the school had no idea she was doing stuff like that all the time. Hopefully school

Seconded. I had the Implanon in for about six months before I absolutely couldn’t take it any more. Several unpleasant side effects, most of which I wasn’t warned about. Hands down the best part was going to my GP and telling her that I was afraid of the effect it was having on my mental health, mainly depression. I

Picked that up when “things that are hard” included “approaching women respectfully”. I’m still laughing at the idea of someone tripping over a bar set so damn low.

Yesssss, this. An ex of mine used to do whatever had worked on his previous girlfriend and either she came way easier than me or was way better at faking. He was big on communication so I finally worked up the courage to explain what wasn’t working. He was really attentive, thanked me for being so comfortable and open

I remember these ads from my childhood. And being super impressed when I found out the couple in the ad are actually named Tim and Tam.

That’s true. I think my mother’s misstep was in handing me the encyclopaedia in a bid to end the conversation, as though “this is everything you need to know”. Even at barely twelve, I was like, I’m pretty sure it’s not.

At school we used to say ‘Jenny’s here’. No idea why, but we had to stop when a girl called Jennifer started in our class. Also, this was at an all-girls’ school. Still not sure whose delicate sensibilities we were protecting.

Oh god my mother did the same thing. She handed me the encyclopaedia and we never discussed it again. I made sure to tell my two younger sisters to come to me when they started menstruating.
