I thought about joining a CZ facebook group I found, but realized I probably wouldn't know who anyone was and they wouldn't know me.
I ought to watch that. What else is in your top 5?
You managed to do that while watching The Wrath of Khan, all of Lost, and reading The Third Policeman?!
I still need to watch it (and also, maybe, read The Handmaid's Tale).
It's not a lot of things. Most of them, really.
It's no Wrath of Khan.
Kickpuncher for President?
It's been on the outs ever since Napoleon destroyed the Most Serene Republic of Venice back in 1797.
Less hard to find than, say, a good man.
Because maybe, reading it too long, you yourself become part book. And then where would you be? Are you lief to have leaves?
Well, maybe. It certainly is funny and, I suppose, scary. I'm content calling it Menippean satire, but it is a pretty nebulous designation. You could say it is also a nebulous book, in terms of genre.
The Third Policeman!
It will allow them to EMBRACE SOCIAL

. Seems like a smart business move.
Like Phil Simms.
It's American for "guy who isn't as good at speaking but used to play the sport or is a comedian or something".
Will do. I haven't really listened to that much of the English folk/folk rock stuff that came out in the 60s-70s. Only a few songs from Pentangle and Steeleye Span, really.
You have, but to be fair, I've posted that Iris DeMent version before. I've never seen it.
I had not. One of those verses ("If I was a scholar…") is quite similar to one that appears in some versions of "Pretty Saro", like this Doc Watson version and this Bob Dylan version. Iris DeMent wishes she was a turtle dove instead of a poet or scholar.
