And there's regional variations of BBQ, occasionally associated with a particular city like Memphis or Kansas City (along with regional styles like SC mustard).

There's sandwiches (or types of sandwich) associated with particular cities like Philly cheese-steak or po'boys and muffalettas from New Orleans. But most "New Orleans" food like gumbo or jambalaya is actually regional.

The copy I got – I think it was a Penguin – was the revised version that was apparently a little less so compared to the original, or, at least, less obvious. The editor thought it the superior version and I think it is what usually gets printed nowadays.
