Good ol' King Grimr of Niðarós, does he let being an aging, one-armed, one-legged, insane syphilitic stop him from taking his many sons a-viking and raiding the western isles every year?

He reminds me a bit of Don Quixote as a comic hero dedicated to an entirely unnecessary and self-imposed code of conduct and a bit of Miss Lonelyhearts in his feeling of responsibility to his audience leading him into darkness.

I forgot your parents named you Standard. Was it the type of transmission in the car you were conceived in or something?

Much beloved ancillary character (which is also how I like to think of myself in real life).

I always take wrong turns near there and end up in bullfights.

Just a general term for priest, not necessarily those descended from Aaron and "cohen" (which is the closer, more natural transliteration) is sometimes used in the Tanakh to describe various pagan priests too.

I enjoyed the first episode of Harmonquest (which may still be up on youtube). The appeal of it is somewhat limited and I can't really just recommend it to people.

Kind of a bowlegged cowboy walk. Good to see they're approaching the unmined territory of space as wild west setting.

Sorry. That really sucks.

I like a lot of Chess albums, but movie didn't really look all that good or interesting. I don't really understand the appeal of musical biopics; musicians' lives usually aren't all that interesting in themselves and you're left with ersatz versions of their music, the most interesting thing about them.

Whoa! Huge slam on Danny Pudi out of nowhere!

I think Beyoncé covered "At Last" and played Etta James in that movie about Chess Records that I didn't see.

The last one I listened to (60-something), they gave a shout out to one of the AVC writers who had tweeted about listening to 20+ in a few weeks. Might have been Barsanti, I forget and I'm not sure whoever it was was writing for AVC at the time.

I liked it the first time through, but I'm kind of used to Graham Greene's peculiarities. The direction and Anton Karas' music turn all those peculiarities up a notch or, at least, bring them right to the surface.
