The Simarillion I ordered for Christmas just came in this week (along with a book about Tolkien's riddles and how they relate to Anglo-Saxon literature). I might just wrap myself in a warm Middle Earth cocoon tonight, as Sam Gamgee might.

I think it (and Minecraft) introduced developers to the benefits of the wonderful world of modding. They seem a lot more open to providing mod tools nowadays (of course this is partly because modern games are a lot harder to mod than they used to be). It's pretty great.

A new really big, officially sponsored XCOM 2 mod came out today. Seems really cool so far.

At least we'll still have non-profits like the NFL to entertain us when PBS and NPR are gone.

Some small slight?

Yes, but mostly malversation.

Yeah I thought I was coming in high.

Yeah that's one I'd add along with using executive orders to circumvent the legislature. He didn't have too much choice with regard to the latter, because the Republicans blocked everything and refused to compromise, but it does set a dangerous precedent, especially with a possible fascist coming to power.

Republicans have been anti-arts funding and public media for awhile now (including Romney's ridiculous bid to fight the deficit by getting rid of Big Bird, when CPB funding is less than 0.1% of the budget). The pro-domestic violence and violence against women is something new and exciting Trump brings to the table.

Bear down for midterms?

I was considering some sort of copro-centric pun about him visiting the opera, but
a.) copra is already a word
b.) copera would probably convey the sense of some sort of cop-based opera

He knocks the 7 into the 10 and gets the spare.

Could anybody be good with that dialogue and opposite him or is the most they could hope for tall?

Tall in her dreams is the cheapest conceit in all actor assessments.

Is Cate Blanchett good or just tall?
