I keep hearing this from folks and have yet to see it for myself. Also, the copy and paste spam in every comment section is about 10:1 from Bernie supporters to Hillary supporters.

Right, but wasn’t the title that the two were “feuding” over it, which brings a petty fight to mind rather than an historic endorsement? It feels like Sanders gets a lot of passes, Clinton gets a lot of (shallow) criticism, and it’s tiresome.
The commentariat is bad over on Gawker when it comes to vicious Bernie supporters on the attack, but Hamilton Nolan is honestly no better.
Regardless of anyone’s feelings on Hillary, I can completely understand why she would balk at being termed “establishment.” She is a woman who helped take down a corrupt president, founded an agency to fight for women and children, took on cases as a public defender, and who Republicans have been trying to personally…
I work in politics, and the one thing I’ve learned is that everything is grosser, more complex, and more corrupt up close. Thanks for shedding more light on this situation.
Thanks for all the info - that still seems like such a small amount!
If they were white, maybe. As it is I think the Republicans running Michigan see them as the ideal prison labor.
Well sadly, given their socioeconomic status, race, and now lead exposure, it’s more likely they’re creating the next generation of exploited, disenfranchised prison labor.
That’s why your invocation of penny wise and pound foolish is so apt - there is no long term benefit and a whole hell of a lot of long term cost increases!
That’s the kicker. I don’t know what amount of money you would have to save to justify poisoning thousands of children with a substance we know leads to increased aggression and impulsivity (while decreasing cognitive function), but 25% after 25 years surely is not it.
But that’s because there’s no evidence that supports keeping the death penalty - the only way we keep it is by nakedly appealing to visceral emotion.
I am so unsurprised that this creep is stylistically similar to Ken Kratz. UGH.
This is horrible and accurate and I hate it.
I was reading your comments the other day, and I have to say you fucking nailed it. I did not catch the scent, but you were dead on.
Alright but at least American Chinese food tastes like SOMETHING.
This is the thing - I’ve seen so many posts that are like WE KNOW IT ISN’T REAL MEXICAN!!!! Okay, but do you also know that it is completely flavorless? I do not get it.
THANK YOU. There is a direct line from my heart to your keyboard and I am SO GRATEFUL TO YOU JULIANNE.
Omg that is HORRIFYING
Nope. It’s because you’re a dumbass.
You said, “You mean the policies spearheaded by Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders? Ok, I agree.” I disagreed that Warren had spearheaded much of anything since her time at the CFPB. Your backpedaling has reached the level of tantrum, so I’m out.
