Considering you can get a 99-01 with 85k miles on it, no paint issues and services records... for $15k, I don’t think anything was stolen.
The 1999s had a proper dual row IMS bear and a less than 0.5% failure rate. It’s actually the best year of the cheap Porsches, in that regard, and practically a non-issue.
