You are right the laptimes don’t matter. What really matters is you are getting an LS7 engine. That is the main reason to get a Z28 over a Vette. I have a c6 z06 and would choose the Camaro for that glorious engine.
So , the same performance at the same price, with the possibility to carry a couple more people on occasion?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going with the Stingray, but if number of seats were a priority, even occasionally, I can see why someone would consider the Z28.

Exactly - shod the C7 with those tires and it’ll be right there with the Z28, if not quicker. Tough to beat a better chassis, less weight and better aero on a course like VIR.
