Just found a new place the mount the rear license plate, if you’re going fast enough through the toll booth, they will never see it. Not that I would ever condone ripping off a toll road.

I am in PA and I know that if I register a car here 6 mos/180 days after its in my possession I do not pay PA sales tax. Again this is going to be state by state. Montana should close the loop all together because its driving most other states nuts.
Not really most states wave the sales tax fee if the car brought in from out of state 180 days post sale. States with yearly value tax or ad valorum tax might still get cut out if Montana is still cheaper then them. It will be a case by case/state by state scenario. Still shady as hell.
The only way they are going to get anything out of this is from owners who live in states with an annual value tax greater then 1%. I completely agree, Porsche 911 (carerra 2 and 4 variants) from the 09-11 era when comparing model variant to equivalent model variant of the 991 era the prices are almost identical. Its nuts.
