I don’t know how much you remember of Clinton’s presidency at all but in his heyday, he was a far better and charismatic orator than even Obama. And Obama is the gold standard now. Plus he had the southern lilt and charm working for him that he knew good ol’ boys would respond to.

Same. I’m always like, “God gave us common sense, y’all”. My pastor did a sermon on this years ago about surrounding yourself with wise counsel regarding people who just assume only their interpretation of the Bible is the right one or what God is trying to tell them is go right when He’s really saying go left but

There’s a similar letter being sent to congress for those of us in the film/tv/commercial world as well. Same circumstances that affect every union, not to mention non-union people, as well. And yeah, I can hear the wave of “it’s not as important as other jobs” remarks forming already. And no, it’s not as important as

3-6 Mafia performed “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” to a standing ovation and won, with Queen Latifah singing the chorus to the song when she announced them as the winner at the ‘06 Oscars. So not so out of place.

Except if you watch the video, Indina Menzel is making that face while bopping her head. I guess that’s her “I’m really into this” face, but has somehow made the rounds as confusion instead.

I really don’t understand the takes that I’ve been reading about the performance. They were HYPED when he came out and, if you listen, they cheered again the first time he did the chorus. I guess it’s easier and more fun to create a narrative based off of literal split-second shots of people - because our faces

It seems like all of the millenial writers on these sites are tripping over themselves trying to out-pretentious each other. I guess this not-middle-aged black woman doesn’t exist in their world, because I keep telling everyone I meet to go see this movie.

SOOOO glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read this! Nicely done.

Not just White America. Claiming Native ancestry was HUGE in the Black community, especialy in the 80s and early 90s when I grew up. Every single friend I went to school with was *insert % here* Native, and it was almost always Cherokee, probably because we couldn’t name any other tribes. Had nothing to do with

I was there too in the 300 section, right next to the apple. I had that familiar, “we’re about to lose” sinking feeling I usually have when we’re down near the end, until Dom got to the plate. For some reason I started thinking to myself “what if he hits a homerun? You know what, I think he’s gonna hit a homerun”.

I suck at math, but 17 million out of an approximate total population of 66 million from a vote 3 years ago isn’t exactly most people. Doesn’t your own parliament have a minimum threshold of votes needed to get anything through, like even if a majority voted for something they can still come up short if not enough MPs

This is just ridiculous on so many levels. I liken it to saying soldiers don’t need basic training at a base, they can do everything in a gymnasium, like running around the track a few times and doing crossfit for PT. First person shooter games can totally replace live fire drills, right?

Because we shouldn’t have needed that walkoff in the first place. It’s one thing if the opposing team rallies on their own and pulls off a come from behind, it’s quite a different thing when our pitcher, who already has a history of blowing our saves in very recent memory, does it for them.

Hours before the game started, my obnoxious, yankee-loving cousin was trolling me on facebook, as is our way of bonding. I told him we absolutely had a chance for the playoffs as long as Familia doesn’t pitch anymore and Diaz only pitches if we’re ahead by 10 runs or more. Never have I hated being right in my entire

I hate you for making me laugh at my team like that and almost spitting out my milkshake.

I did the exact same thing! Checked back 20 min later and was pleasantly surprised. My heart just can’t take these last minute come-from-behinds. I was there the other week with Conforto’s walk-off, watching the game through my fingers until Frazier’s home run.

Wrong worm....

I was there and you’d think we just won the World Series the way the stadium exploded. I was totally in “here we go again” mode after the top of the 9th, but Frazier’s homer made me a believer again. Everyone was so pumped afterwards walking out of the stadium and cheering that I overheard a little girl say to her

I’ve been in these private townhouse elevators. Most of them are blank, 4'x4' boxes with an accordian gate. Definitely not for the claustrophobic.

Holy crap, is that Monstar???
