@Adam Spano: Indeed. I had one when the game first came out and barely realized it until I started feeling like I was about to die. #grandtheftautoiv

@mugido: I question this as well. I've read other accounts that say the controls were very tight, but got wonky if you were too far away from the TV. I think Crecente's experience shouldn't be considered a definitive account of Natal's accuracy.

I would love to have a robot backpack.

Bioware at 77 is sort of a surprise. They don't release a ton of games, but I would characterize most of their games as "bankable".

@Scorch3: A point of interest: the promotional art for Dragon Age was done by the same guy who did the Left 4 Dead-esque "zombie children on a playground" painting.

I don't understand the crying about this game not being KOTOR3. Bioware wanted to enter the lucrative MMO market, and this is definitely the IP to do it with. Complaining that this game isn't KOTOR3 is like complaining that Dragon Age isn't KOTOR3. If Bioware wanted to develop KOTOR3, they would have done that

@arstal: Same with me. I got seriously hooked on the GalCiv games, and bought Sins mainly just to support Stardock. I really wanted to like that game, and I didn't hate it, but for some reason it just didn't click with me.

Excellent news. ToD was the best game on the PS3 so far, in my opinion.

War of Eighteen Twelve

I like the stylized look of this game. It stays away from the uncanny valley issues that plague so many sports games. As for the graphics comments; you guys are dumbtarded. Go look at current PS2 release screen shots and honestly compare them.

@robbo_the_hood: MGS4 definitely belongs on that list, as does GTAIV. What little credibility the gaming press had left was completely obliterated by those two games largely receiving perfect scores. Between MGS4's poor control and horrible dialog and GTAIV's archaic save system and wonky driving camera, it seems

Tom Robbins last novel featured an anthropomorphic tanuki that enjoyed drinking saki and copulating with Japanese girls. The tanuki's enormous testicles figured prominently in the story, as did his tendency to thump his belly when he was contented. The book is called Villa Incognito. It's probably not his best work,

I'm still on the fence about this game. All of the reviews I've read have specifically touted it's creation tools and the glory of user-created content. I've dorked around with creation tools in the past for various PC games, and I generally lose interest after about 10 minutes.

I was expecting the picture of the dog with the eyebrows drawn on it—the one that looks just like KK Slider. I laugh every time I see it.

I have a fondness for Nintendo because of all the great times I had playing my NES, SNES, N64, and of course Gameboy. I still buy their consoles, but I don't buy many of their games, at least not for myself.

I agree with Kojima's statement. What's even worse is that most of the gaming media buys into the hype and overrates high-profile games. MGS4 and GTA4 were both disappointments, in my opinion, but the incredible hype and fan support pushed many reviewers into giving them better scores than they deserved.

I don't doubt that it has improved considerably since launch, but it's telling that this was one of the first in a long line of WoW-killers that was giga-hyped by the anti-WoW fanboys. As with AoC and now with WAR, always take the hype with a healthy dose of skepticism.

I've noticed that a lot of the games I've played in the past few years have gotten less frustrating. While it definitely reduces the challenge level of the game, it gives me a different kind of enjoyment. Instead of hitting my head against a wall during multiple retries of a challenging section followed by elation at

I loved R&C:ToD. I consider it to be one of the best PS3 games so far.

It's interesting that he mentioned Bioshock. When I was playing MGS4 and groaning over the corny dialog and stoking a glowing rage over the lack of play time, I kept thinking about Bioshock and how well they integrated the story into that game. The tape recordings were brilliant, IMO, because they gave me a ton of
