Most, if not all routers have either a mounting bracket or holes to wall mount it. No need for buy anything extra and the result will be even cleaner than whats pictured above as it won't have those hangers.

yeah that sounds similar to what I read as well. Thanks for confirming.
A good tip if you're using DD-WRT or Tomato is to not screw around with the Wireless Transmit Power settings. I was trying to increase the transmit power on my buffalo router running DD-WRT. I was using values as high as 50-65 mW. After doing some reading on some forums, I read that the Buffalo router I had should be…
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't setting up a Wireless Repeater significantly cut your wifi speed?
I've done this as well... Put it in my attic, attached the coax and I get about 20 HD channels, much better quality than from the cable company.
Very interesting article that hits close to home... except this article has a bunch of links to related articles that gets me interested and clicking through which in-turn causes me to start procrastinating lol.
yes, but from my experience and many others on the net, it does not help much with the mold problem. It will slow it down a little, but never prevent it.
Not sure where you live, but in Canada, download caps are still definitely not generous, especially considering all the streaming services available these days. A pretty standard cap is about 120gb/mo (with Rogers Cable for example), which has only recently doubled from the ridiculously low 60gb/mo cap. On top of that…
I had a front loader that came with the house we bought about 4 years ago. 2 years ago our clothes started smelling really bad even after washing. We found that there was a significant amount of mold growing in the inside of the rubber "bellow". After a lot of googling, I found out the only sure-fire way to get rid of…
because then you'll have to buy more material that you won't use. It's a little more work by cutting it up and reattaching it, but it will cost less as you can optimize the use of the material.
As @timgray said, you can generally buy the cheapest HDMI cable you can find as it doesn't matter until you get into the really long lengths. You can get normal 40ft HDMI cables from monoprice for as low as $33. From my research about 50ft is the max length you can run an HDMI cable without problems according to their…
ditto!
One of my professors from college used to swear by doing work only 4 solid hours a day. He said a 4 hr stretch was the limit to our attention spans.
yeah because giving someone Linux who barely knows how to use Windows is a good idea....
hahah... me... and no luck. Any ideas?
That was a blatent plug, but I rarely ever follow links like that... if you don't want to help him, here: www.copy.com although through his link, you'll get 20gb whereas normal visitors will only get 15gb when they sign up. So maybe he gets an incentive when someone signs up with his link, but so does the person…
Yeah seem my problem is pushing the wires through the guide and pushing the guide into the plug. Everytime I've tried it in the past, either the wires shift or the guide falls off, or the guide gets stuck in the plug and the wires bend. It's infinitely more complicated than crimping cat5/5e.
Meh. My opinion is if it's old enough to still be running XP, then sell it as soon as possible to get as much as possible out of it. I just recently sold an old emachines laptop that was running XP for a cool $50. IMO, it was WAY too slow to run any recent software. I even tried a few different linux installations,…
Are you talking about custom CAT5e cables or custom CAT6? I've crimped tons of CAT5e, but I've tried crimping CAT6 and it's ridiculously and unnecessarily complicated. Maybe i dont have enough experience with crimping cat6 but the rj45 jacks and little plastic guides are super hard to work with. My fingers always get…
