I recognize the design limitation of working to only replace the hatch component, but with all the lateral real estate available behind the rear fender intake ducts, if they went with some flying buttress goodness, they could have freed themselves from the aesthetic need to continue the lines of the cabin area.

I went back and read a couple of older articles about it and the complainers seem to be people in search of the “perfect” photo of the village. From the quotes they frankly sound like insufferable twats, but I somehow suspect that the vandal is a local who thinks that the car is driving tourists and thus money away…

I don’t even get why a yellow car would “ruin” a photo, instead of add personality to it.
