I came here for the Biff Tannen reference. I was not disappointed.

As a carpenter, I don’t recommend doing any of these exercises to your door or frame. Maybe I’m mistakenly basing that on the fact that I have the strength you’d expect from someone who works with their hands for a living. Maybe I’m more foolish for suggesting you not do something that would give guys like me more

And Libertarians would correctly point out that this might happen ONCE, but watch United’s stock and ridership rates. Nobody’s going to pay money to fly Busted Lip Airlines. They will lose customers in droves over this. Market forces will fix this, government or no.

Market correction is not a “bad place,” it’s simple economics. We had the tech bubble and the housing bubble. Next is the auto bubble and the student loan bubble.

Intentionally ignoring inconvenient facts is the same as lying. The math to “confirm” the wage gap is based on lifetime earnings, but disregards two important facts: women are more likely to work part-time and often work less over the course of their lives.

Does it matter what the characters do if no one is still watching?

Reading through this list, we’re covered. We camp a lot and spend a lot of time outdoors. A lot of this stuff lives in a bag I carry daily, with some redundancies in the vehicle.

For OTC antibiotics, look up Fish Mox.

Yep, and we paid out to the tune of $8 for every $1 saved.

The electric motor of the starter turns the engine over. With an old enough Jeep or the right mods, you can propel the vehicle a short distance this way. #theoriginalhybrid

Is this the article you post when none of are your Jeeps are running, so you have to use someone else’s video instead of making your own? :-D

I just Googled “largest naval bases in the us” and learned something new. It appears the “biggest” bases are determined by the staff numbers, not the acreage, making Naval Station Norfolk top the list. It’s a little over 8 miles away. Yeah, I’m definitely fucked in this scenario.

One local place I know of was a post office, built in 1909, and is today a library. Another is an auditorium, built in 1955, now a performance venue. Both have large basement areas. The latter has a decal noting it was last inspected as a shelter in 1972.

Some places still have fallout shelter signs. Also, my garage has fallout shelter signs from some places...

After Logan, this character seems like a big screen version of an also-ran.

There used to be a weekly car meet at a retro chrome diner. One of the regular participants had a ‘73 Cadillac convertible. The guy was a nut, and dressed like a Halloween pimp for the meets. Toward the end of one of the meets, he asked his wife to get something out of the trunk. When she did, he shot dual exhaust

I came to Jalopnik read about cars, not politics. The crossover posts are going to make me abandon all the Gawker sites.

This sort of bullshit is why law needs to be judged on one simple factor: no victim, no crime. If you hit the cop or someone else, wrecked and damaged the curb, whatever, fine - then charge you with something. But going safely going about your business should never be a crime.

Duluth Trading Shoreman’s Fleece - Windproof, weatherproof, at least 6 pockets, and the relentless quality DT is known for. While wearing mine, I’m completely comfortable going for a walk down to 20° or so.

Between that scene and the earlier scene where Xavier said he and Laura were communicating without speaking, I drew the same conclusion. Unfortunately this film is one that creates more questions than it answers.
