Having recently taken my first trip to Japan, it honestly jarred me how heavy the work culture is there. Everyday, throngs of adults in business suits crowding the subway and coming back at 8 or 9. Not to mention the mandatory after work bar get-togethers. It felt like these people only went home to sleep.

Become Gods is my favorite track by a mile.

You must have been playing Zelda with English dubs. Rookie mistake!

For me, the impressive story beats didn’t come until near the end of the Route A. The best parts are in Route C however, which can be a detriment for those who don’t want to speed through B. A lot of the fascinating stuff however, is in the mini-narratives of the side missions.

I’d like to propose that the good Samaritans of kotaku flood her twitter and twitch channels with support and positive body-affirmation in solidarity with this young lady.

I was thinking the same thing. Hell, I get upset sometimes just from negative kinja comments. I can’t imagine the thick skin you need to have to take that kind of abuse on a daily basis. She needs as much positive re-enforcement as she can get.

The main reason I don’t partake in twitch viewing except for a few big events is the chat is usually so toxic and self-indulgent that it ruins the experience.

Which area of esports specifically? I was initially surprised by how well represented black gamers are in the competitive fighting game scene.

I think theirs also an element of the classic gamer elitism. As in, the console players look down on the mobile players, the PC Master Race looks down on the console apologists, etc,

Because that controller was made to play Smash Bros.

overhauled movesets? Not likely. Then it wouldn’t be the same game. You might see a few moves changed here and there (I’d love for Lucina to move out of Marth’s clone shadow), but it would likely be more re-balancing.

How does keeping the next game in arguably your biggest franchise a secret for at least a year (by average dev cycles) help your fledgling console? Many, many people bought the Wii U simply because Smash 4 has already been announced when it launched.

I’d bet serious coin it’s Smash 4.5. It makes zero business sense to keep this game under wraps since the Switch launched if it was a brand new entry. I know Nintendo isn’t known for their pragmatic business acumen , but consider the last 2 Smash games were both revealed years ahead of release with steady development

I spotted exactly 2 women in that video. Some stereotypes are true!

I’m hesitant to assume you’re not trolling...it’s far more likely they’d add to Smash 4's roster than finish a new game that’s slated for 2018.

BotW Link could very easily be a costume and adding new characters to the roster doesn’t signify it’s not a port. I’m about 90% sure it’s an update of Smash 4 with enough bells and whistles to entice people to buy the same game again.

Exactly and the competitive scene goes by stock not time limit, which is what FG forced you to use.

This game would sell even if it’s a straight port of the Wii U version, but there’s a lot of improvements that’d be nice to see,

I don’t know why they’re being coy about whether it’s a port or not...all signs point to it, so why not just say so?

I’d have to disagree. It feels good and moves well, but after an hour or so the ridges on the stick will make your thumb sore and callous. It was material was less rough, it’d be my fave too.
