Their license agreement implies that contributions require copyright assignment. If that’s true, the owner is free to relicense the product to whomever they want, however they want.

“Occasional” ad? They do one for every evening show now. Sometimes two.

They eliminated the minimum payout months ago.

Yeah, but they said that they threw out all of Inquisition’s custom-built systems and started from scratch for Anthem. Seems to me like using the special sauce built for a Dragon Age game, to build the next Dragon Age game, would make more sense than starting with a completely different genre and game style as your

That was the point I was trying to make. Obviously badly.

So, not only are some core members of the Dragon Age team gone, but they’re using the pile of quicksand that is Anthem for its engine instead of, say, the engine from Bioware’s most recent successful game (read: Inquisition)?

Yeah, that doesn’t inspire any confidence.

Not true. They hook the Animus up to the “ancestor’s” remains now. No procreation is necessary.

Starting with Origins that premise no longer holds - anybody’s memories can be viewed now, not just your ancestor’s.

Meanwhile, on the Delta flight: “If you look outside the right side of the plane you’ll see Southwest Flight 214. Give the poor folks packed in over there a big wave using all of your available elbow room.”

Minimum wage is $9.45/hour. Rounding up to $10 doesn’t seem excessive to me.

Good. Maybe they’ll pivot back to a story-focused game. You know, like the franchise it’s based on.

Many of their larger games have sponsors. And for the last month or so, they’ve been showing a 30 second ad before each game. Even if they charge $10K ($5K for the prize, $5K for HQ’s expenses), that seems like a reasonable rate for hitting 500K+ pairs of eyeballs.

I’m still hoping for translations of the other games in the Science Adventures series (best known for Steins;Gate). With the Robotics;Notes sequel releasing soon, and with it including PS4 and Switch ports of the original, this would be a great time for both games to be brought over. Maybe if Steins;Gate Elite does

Best Buy price matches Amazon. So... yes.

I’ll admit that Patrick Weekes’ involvement is promising. I’m just afraid of a repeat of what happened with Mass Effect 2/3 after Drew Karpyshyn left, where the writing paled compared to the first installment (or in this case, first three).

So, an executive producer, and an art director. I wouldn’t consider either of those critical to the game; executive producer isn’t a creative role, while the shifts in art style between existing games means that it’s not one of the series’ pillars.

Electronic Arts is infamous for killing studios. Most recently Bioware Montreal, after one bad game, and Visceral Games, after taking too long to make their next game. Both of those spectres loom large here - Anthem seems poised to go over like Mass Effect: Andromeda did, while Visceral shows that EA will happily pull

So... the old Dragon Age leads are gone. Nobody’s actually working on it at the moment because they’re all trying to get Anthem out the door. And when Anthem fails EA is likely to ditch Bioware as yet another failed acquisition.
