As someone who minored in history and took a special interest in the civil war era of American History, it doesn’t even make sense.

There also aren’t any black people in the Nazi States of America, if you noticed. If I remember correctly, the first black person we see is in the Neutral Zone (though he turns out to be an important character in a ton of ways). So, it’s not just Jews. The fact that the more they are talking about this the more they are describing modern day America yet they are calling it alternative history shows how fucked up this will be. They are already coming from a place of not knowing how the current reality works. So... the fuck? You just want to have the South declare…

That’s true, but the Handmaid’s Tale is science fiction and is the tv adaptation of a book that came out 30 years ago. We knew what to expect from it and it’s the closest thing a white woman can get to telling a slave narrative.
