So none of them?

Traditionally, every garden shed in Britain has a stash of Benson & Hedges and a bottle of Famous Grouse hidden inside for use by long-suffering husbands when they’re out there ‘working on the mower’. So I’d imagine it’s well stocked.

It also changed networks. It used to be advertisement-free on the BBC and then it was bought out by advertisement-supported Channel 4, which was super controversial at the time. Many of the original cast (like Mary Berry) didn’t make the transition, so the personnel changed quite a bit then.

Yeach, I forgot about the flags. That was also weird. As if Britain is just America but with a re-skin mod downloaded.

I’ve vegan friends claiming that nothing they eat involves an animal dying, being harvested from, being kept out of a natural state etc. (insects count) in any way

To hell with your positivity! I want nothing less than a shot for shot remake of TNG or I'll scweam and I'll scweam until I turn blue!

As a qualified warp engineer, it’s my understanding that dilithium only comes into play above warp 4. At lower warp speeds you can achieve a M/AM reaction very inefficiently with a big ass engine without dilithium, but you need the crystals if you want to go faster than that (and to have engines smaller than a city).

*crosses fingers for Pah’ Wraith Dukat*

I suppose it also depends on how much of the Federation is left. The guy in the first episode didn’t know, and it could well be that the Federation is in better shape around its core worlds where it’s denser and communication is easier.

I would watch a movie based on Sam & Max Hit the Road

I think this is as a result of colour blind casting. The characters weren't originally written as black, so that isn't explored at all even though it would clearly have a bearing.

Tikka Masala is absolutely ‘from’ Britain, in its current form.

Yeah, I didn’t want to be the dick that pissed on the feel good story, but it’s a good thing they didn’t drop Hersheys in 1944 or they would have been more motivated to avoid occupation.

Yes, this makes much more sense now. I’d assumed that Hugh’s amazement at the idea of an American nanny coming to Britain was just the American producers gazing at old glory and touching themselves, but it makes much more sense in a Victorian context.

The show can’t seem to decide. On the one hand you have to assume that Viola doesn’t do it every night, or someone would definitely have noticed that the owners of the house disappear whenever they get up for a glass of water.

I’m reading this in Carla’s ropey Yorkshire accent

Eh. I was thinking that, but then I remembered how often the heroes just casually gunned people down in DS9. The one where Kira rescues that Bajoran war hero from prison, totally off her own back, O’Brien kills three or four Cardassians on his own without missing a beat.

The only other Lurian in the universe! Hooray!

I’m not a nerd, I’m an enthusiast!

I agree with you re: the ghosts frame. Whoever did the ghost scenes has much smaller shoulders than Kate Siegel
