Ubisoft just says “Copied” but either Bloomberg or Ubi don’t say if they think the game contains stolen art or just looks too similar. I’ve reached out to Ubisoft for more information.

Article isn’t clear - are they accusing the game of stealing assets / code? Or just being “too similar”, which is a much weaker case?

It’s REALLY worth noting that this doesn’t even really get at the problem. The problem is that the game has always been a 100 person drop game. 100 people drop, and the best person wins. The maps are big, and matches can be intense. Sometimes there are lulls, and sometimes a lot of hotspots. Now, in order to not play

Smurfing

Why don't they just implement a matchmaking system that groups players of similar skill in the same lobby or matches?

If there’s anything that Destiny, Guild Wars 2, and FFXIV have taught me, its that open world informal grouping based events (ie public events/fates/etc) are the fucking worst. Oh sure the on paper theory is nice, large groups of players inherently coming together to perform objectives, wordlessly functioning as one

Have you ever owned a portable console? Joycons are by far the best gamepads any portable console has had. The PSP and PSP2 are horrendous by comparison. The only reason people are complaining is because the Switch is being judged by home console standards instead of portable console standards, even though it is meant

I would love if the PS5 ends up being a big sphere that rests in a stand to contrast with Microsoft’s big rectangular box with the sharp edges. It would just be so ridiculous

Hell, even if it was a real gun, she’s a Storm Trooper, it’s not like she would have hit anything.

I hope, but sincerely doubt, that this works.

Women exist.

For me it’s a relaxing game you plunk away at over a long period of time, just sort of enjoying the moments as they come; the writing is fun, the characters are charming, seasonal events are interesting etc. All of this loans and stocks and stuff is completely optional background content for me.

This is the most “nextdoor.com”-related post and meta trend I’ve ever seen on Kotaku. I mean, play the game how you want, but damn 😂

Thank you, anyone who wants a Chinese owned company installing untested admin level rootkits is welcome to it, but I sure as hell am not.

Players who install Valorant, the new first-person shooter from Riot, also add to their computer an anti-cheat system that activates whenever they boot up their computer.

I was thinking of checking this game out.  Not anymore.

It’s a rootkit. No thanks. I don’t care how secure THEY think it is. This kind of thing never ends well.

A roootkit from a Tencent owned company, what could go wrong

When I get a new program, the first thing I do is either change the settings so that it doesn’t run on startup, or uninstall. No exceptions.
