I went as far as to email the sales mgr at the dealership where I bought by Tundra turd pro and asked him to preemptively put me on the list, and I’d call him Sunday after the announcement if it got PIH. Clearly, that call did not happen.
Plug-in hybrid. That’s literally all I give 0.5 fucks about, or can even hope for, from Toyota anymore.
I would like to take a moment to recognize that this statement -
Yep.
Pretty much, yeah. The investors are buying a company with money put into a fund called a “blank check” early on. The goal is to minimize conflicts of interest.
A friend of mine put it perfectly when I explained how SPACs worked. His summary - “oh, so it’s like a shitty IPO. Got it.”
They need to stick this motor and exhaust on the new Bronco Raptor and call it the Braptor.
I suspect they are trying to offer easy-to-store weather protection. Keep them stashed in a small box somewhere, and only take them out if the weather turns to garbage.
This is really well executed. Now bring back the 2-smokes!
All I want to know is about the drivetrain. If PIH, I’m 99% sure I’m in, despite the heinous front end.
They had me until 56 miles. Really think something like this should be able to at least make it around a national park and return to a charging site (at the very least) without firing up the REX.
The CL ad also states this being “1-owner” …
VW eGolf. It looks like a normal car, has 140-ish mile range, and is actually fun and pleasant to drive. Plenty of cargo space for what they need.
This is, I believe, a Classic Roadster Ltd kit. The company had an interesting history, but went TU 20 years ago or so. It’s a (well done) glass body on a custom frame, and requires a donor Mustang II for suspension and drivetrain.Mine (attempted to picture below) had, I think, a Ford small block from a Versailles.
Was going to hang onto the 135 forever. This will be the thing that changes my mind.
I’m always surprised / elated to rediscover just how much hills will affect range. The i3 gets 50% more than the published range if I’m driving exclusively from where I live, over a hill 15 miles away to run errands, and back. Somehow, it doesn’t lose massive amounts of efficiency in the climb but of course makes…
Taxes are a big part of it, but not all of the story. CA gas excise tax is only $0.10 higher than IL. It’s a lot, but not all.
The cheapest gas in my town is $4.26 for 87 octane unleaded. I generate electricity for the equivalent of 15c/kwh (pay-what-you-use lease model).
This is the most GM thing imaginable.
