Yep you’re right! I got them mixed up!

I think something like Monte Cook Games’ Cypher System or Numenera is way more fitting.
Except it wasn’t Holtzman who discovered it... it was his wife. Leto II details that in his diaries because he has all her memories :)
Same. A disabled friend of mine kinda pulled me aside a few years ago and told me that most of the “As Seen On TV” stuff is made for disabled folks, but the market is really small, so the distribution companies market them to everyone to lower the cost of production and retail prices. She said it’s kinda embarrassing…
The purpose of MANY of these devices is not to sell to people of normal ability. They’re typically invented to sell to people with limited mobility, missing limbs, or medical conditions that prevent them from performing complex actions that we find easy.
I could see these being a godsend to elderly or people with…
I feel like the way where people choose sides and the next chapter comes out based on overall player base has been tried and kinda fails in many ways. There is rarely a good split between factions that leads to “fair” story telling in those situations, and being on the “losing” team makes the players feel like their…
SUPER STAR for bringing up Thomas Pynchon!
I have them and they’re awesome! Worth the price, IMO

“It is by will alone I set the Force in motion. It is by the blue milk that the Force acquires speed, the lips acquire stain, the stain becomes a warning... it is by will alone I set the Force in motion”
Ahh Fuku-san. My favorite character
Yeah that’s the same experience I have. It’s usually a stable but slightly pixelated image during high intensity scenes or fast motion, but then will suddenly look smeared and blocky for NO REASON.... and then back to normal. *shrugs*
I never use Wifi for SteamLink. It’s terrible. Ethernet only! Distance and corners with Ethernet aren’t an issue, though you can only go something like 1000 meters with Ethernet (which would be enough distance to go around my entire house TWICE).
My computer connects to a gigabit switch, then to the router. The…
I think latency is part of the issue, but I consider the view to be just as important. If it looks like garbage, I wouldn’t even play it long enough to find out the input lag is terrible. I don’t play many FPS games, though, and definitely no PvP games. Lag doesn’t affect me as much as visuals.
I am pretty tech agnostic: I game on a PC, own all three current gen consoles, have an Android and Mac tablet, a Mac laptop, and an iPhone. I work on Linux devices all the time and do some programming in a special fork of Linux pretty much weekly.
I wanted to love Android. I really did. I kept going back to it because…
yeah and it’s not TERRIBLE to stream via LAN, but the quality still isn’t great. I have it running on a machine with an Nvidia 1070 and over gigbabit ethernet to the Steam Link and it still gets kinda garbled. Totally playable, but not amazing.
Yes, you’re entirely correct, but we’re talking about Kotaku (as US based blog) that’s writing about a US based company (Google). Honestly, I don’t see Google or Amazon offering their streaming game services to other places in the world for a long time, if only because the market for games in the US is really only…
I think all of the people saying that streaming is the way forward are looking through some pretty limited lenses. Like you say in the article, the majority of the country has access to less-than-optimal broadband; and the price of that shitty connection isn’t worth what they’re getting.
I have one of the Steam…
Yeah I didn’t even think of that, since I haven’t paid attention to it. Kinda sucks to have that make XBL less worth it than before. I do like to play the occasional console game on my couch, but I do most of my gaming on PC.
Yeah the XB1 games are... not inspiring. Not every month can be a winner, but you’d think they would want to front-load this summer with good free games since kids are out of school?
Reads like the side of a Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap bottle... or this atrocity:
