Sold. Gjallarhorn and that Titan armor got me hooked. I know there’s not a lot special about them... but I also hope there some cool new Sparrows, too. And, even though they don’t seem to drop often, there’s probably gonna be some cool new ships.

The dev has already said there is a light narrative in the game. The Sentinels come/came from some place and are there for a reason, so it’s up to the players to discover what that reason is. So it’s not a strict narrative in the sense of something like Skyrim, but moreso than Elite:Dangerous.

I, too, felt like Elite

Easily one of my favorite modern-era FF games. It looked fantastic on PS2 and made great use of the system’s potential. It was a game that showed me how developers learn how to take advantage of capability over the lifetime of the hardware.

I also thought it nailed the open world aspect, as opposed to FFXIII, which

I agree that there is a sense of the “mystical” feeling of the Dwemer, but I don’t think we’d play as a Dwemer. In typical TES fashion, we’d start as one of their enslaved races and “rise up” against them.

Even though they’re very enigmatic, there’s a lot of documentation about them and their beliefs within the lore.

My buddy and I were just talking about this at lunch. My thought on their next TES game is probably something ancient; a prequel to other games. We haven’t ever played in the timeline where the Dwemer or Ayleids are around. I would love to play a Dwemer-focused game with strange magic “technology”.

I can’t thank you enough for reminding me of Schthack! I loaded it last night and started to fiddle around, but it was super late. I hooked up my XB1 controller to my PC and it is working great! I need to config the buttons to make it a smoother experience, though.

Man, the graphics are simple, but still look good

FUCK THE HIVE. Their backstory is interesting enough, I guess, but it’s the usual grim-dark-metal-death trope. “We’re evil! Don’t you get it?! Look at how gross and edgy we are!” So lame.

I like the Vex much more. They’re super creepy, when you really start to think about the consequences of time-travelling robots that

I had BB a while ago, but I never got far in the config. I had the DC one for a long time, played the crap out of it when I was stationed in Japan. Then I played the GC versions a ton for many years, but couldn’t ever get anyone to play along with me.

I really love PSO. The art and craft of that game was a perfect

Totally feel this. The content drought is PAINFUL.
I’ve only been playing a lot lately because I bought a PS4 and have to re-level new characters. I was day one on XB1 :(

Totally unrelated:
Do you still play PSO? How? :) I miss grinding rares!

I guess YMMV? I have a single GTX980 and not a super-powerful CPU, no overclocking, and only 8GB RAM. I have the settings set to mid-quality and it looks great and runs with nary a hiccup. I also host a session with my friend and it makes no difference on playability.

I was just thinking about this game yesterday, but I couldn’t remember the name of it! I played it very briefly when I borrowed a friend’s PS2 years ago. Well, now I know what to play on my new PS4!

TL;DR: This trickle of petty non-content (like the glaze on a ham, it’s not a meal) ignores the story and leaves players stuck doing a boring loop of content for a year.
