Chapman came in with the bases loaded, got 2 outs and gave up a single on a 102mph pitch. Still managed to keep the game tied, can’t ask for much more than that. The question should really be why Chapman was not brought in earlier.

Technically the closer’s job is not to finish the innimg behind. Chapman finishing 3-3 is acceptable -especially since he entered with 3 on and no out. Expecting 3-straight outs with no runs is naive. With 1 run is optimistic. 2 runs is expected.

Dude, I am crushed about losing Thisbe game too ... but Jesus the Cubs are great, and fun, and their narrative is well earned.
