I realize that the library is tempting as a place for your collegiate sexytimes, but please refrain. Most libraries have videocameras and a staff who would rather not see you trying to get it on in the stacks. And having to put in a call about strange smells/fluids in study carrels is equally awkward.

I too, wondered about the possibility of a Royal adopting a nonwhite child. Interesting.

"What would you little maniacs like to do first?" — Wierd Science

knowing that there's an entire group of mansplainers using the Matrix reference ("red pill") as a byword for their particular brand of he-man woman objectification ruined that line for me.

I hadn't heard of that story, but the article I read about 'mandingo parties' pretty much echoed this same thing. I wish the author had gone into what that fascination spells for black women, whose sexual history involves more victimization than objectification.

Just wait until he finds out that there are shy black women out there too, and that all fat women aren't "disgusting to look at and have bad personalities and are grossly over-opinionated", just like all shy women aren't "skinny or lean and they aren’t prone to over-eating" !

It sounds to me like he and his readers/followers are just scared of losing out to a woman, shy or otherwise.

And the same "shy girls" don't act on the whims of [the manly man's natural enemy] Their Slutty Friends. They don't have high career ambitions either! And they don't want to compete with [men], either!

Um, it's her house and her gathering? What kind of guest blatantly ignores such a suggestion? Not only did she make it clear that were not equipped to entertain the child, but the guest made further demands on her pantry and time by insisting on food for *another* child that wasn't even there! The epitome of bad

see, this is what i was wondering about: how much the prevailing sexual stereotypes of black people (i.e Mammy/Jezebel/sapphire/black buck/mandingo) would spill over into a sexual environment. I'd be rather afraid of being objectified and/or expected to act a certain way.

This article had *so* much potential! I was really hoping to read about the politics of race and how that plays out in such a sexualized environment (especially when considering how race is portrayed in sexual entertainment). If she would be subjected to the sapphire/jezebel stereotypes, or if people who frequent that

Really like these. thanks for the info!

When is Thugnificent ever NOT right?

Hm. Don't get married, then. Obligatory sex is kinda in the contract. And no, you aren't always dying for it, but you know if you do, you're off the hook for at least another coupla weeks and can have a peaceful household. So you do what you gotta do.

Any chance your husband could maybe do a TED talk on this kind of thing and why it's freaking *important*?

Are you my husband? 'Cause you sure sound like him.
