I was certainly entertained by Buffy banging a fellow slayer and Willow sleeping with a green skinned snake demon. The comics were like official sanctioned fan fiction with all of kinds of material that would never fly on network TV. So for that Season 8 was indeed an improvement over Season 7.

Been the best show on RTE is like been the best student in a special needs class. Although between Love/Hate and Quirke RTE is improving the quality of it's drama.

Nothing wrong at all with channeling Ben Wyatt. I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging I found the characters in that game. I felt that I had played through a fine cable television dvd box set.

Exactly. The whole point of the game was to get you to care about Ellie. How would that have worked if you ended up hating her for screwing up your playthrough by getting you caught and killed all of the time?

Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later would be a dream example of what this film could be. It was a post apocalyptic horror that managed to deliver plenty of spectacle and horror but also featured fully formed and interesting characters and an evocative atmosphere. But I'm pessimistic about this film working out that well.

Stiller also did a good job nailing Cruise's eerie empty laugh and smile. I don't think Cruise realized how cutting Stiller's impersonation actually was.
